Scarlette's Family Affairs is a cheap, low budget, and rushed to the market adult movie. The movie appears to be several scenes originally shot for the internet, which are now loosely connected by narrative sequences to create a feature movie. Scarlette (Scarlette Rose) writes in her diary about her life and we see the action play out on the screen. There is no real plot to speak of, just Scarlette on a couch writing in her diary to function as the plot.

Scarlette's Family Affairs tries to be taboo, with Scarlette having relations with her step-father (J.W.) and her step-mother (Lexi Leigh). However, since these are scenes that appear to never have been shot specifically for this feature, there is no character development resulting no true feeling of any taboo action going on.

The female cast is cute and the sex scenes aren't bad, but the technical blunders throughout the movie detract from any positive experience that the movie might have offered. The still photography camera can be heard throughout the movie. The movie camera can be heard moving along with the crew during portions of the movie. The lighting in the movie is often poor, at one point consisting of one overly bright light. The filming itself lacks technical competency. The picture is blurry during portions of the movie due to focusing issues. The camera pans too quickly at points as well.

The “sets” are cheap. Some sets have obviously no effort at all put in to them as they don't resemble what they should at all. The strip club where Scarlette dances is clearly the corner of a white room, with items caught on the side of the screen that shouldn't even be in the scene. Other “sets” where obviously quickly thrown together.

Honestly, this movie looks like it was made as quickly as possible, offers no value to the viewer, and will probably be forgotten as quickly as it was rushed out to the market.

Desperate Pleasures put as little work into the release of Scarlette's Family Affairs on DVD as went into creating the initial movie. The movie is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1. The picture has three lines across the upper third where the picture is distorted for portions of the movie. There is a logo that appears on the screen during the entire movie, which keeps shifting location, as well as wording. JWTIES appears on the bottom right in bright pink, top right in bright pink, top left in bright yellow, and JessicaRobbinXXX appears in the top right in bright purple during different portions of the movie. Scarlette's Family Affairs is presented with a Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo audio track which, outside of showing all the glaring issues present in the movie, works fine. No extras of any sort have been included on this release.

Scarlette's Family Affairs appears to be several shot for the internet scenes collected together and loosely connected with narrative footage now being presented as a feature movie. The total lack of character development removes the taboo nature that the movie intends to depict and slipshod shooting of the movie removes any potential that the movie might have had. This is an easy title to pass on.
