Scared Stiff is a comedic gay hardcore movie that is a spoof of mainstream horror films in general — with an emphasis on slasher films. The movie takes place in 1985 at Camp Camelot where Jake (Ryan Rose), Skip (Seth Treston), Billy (Jack Hunter), Tommy (Wesley Woods), and Lance (Tom Faulk) head up to get laid. The girls get lost and the five men find that they have a flat and are stuck at Camp Camelot. The night becomes more interesting when Ranger Steve (Colby Keller) shows up and tells them that they have shown up on the 10th year anniversary of when a camp counselor slaughtered five boys in the very cabin the men are in.

The story for Scared Stiff is fun and not only parodies various horror film themes but also makes fun of modern technology as well. Unfortunately, as the sex scenes start going, the story starts taking a back burner until it completely disappears. Since this reviewer was actually enjoying the story and the humor, this was a major disappointment. However, despite the story tapering off until the movie is nothing but wall to wall sex scenes, Scared Stiff is still well worth watching. The cast does a great job with their delivery of the material, which adds to the humor in the movie.

There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the sex scenes in the movie. This reviewer is straight, so the sex scenes are hard to rate, but the performers appear to have good chemistry and the sex scenes are well shot. As with most sex scenes these days, be them in a gay or straight hardcore movie, the sex scenes are on the long side.

The locations used for Scared Stiff are excellent. The movie was shot at Naughty Pines in Guerneville, CA, which appears to be a popular place for shooting adult movies. The movie gives the impression that the five men are out in the wilderness during the movie, something that adult movies aren't always so good at. The theme song for the movie, “Scared Stiff,” by Kent Fuher and Calpernia Addams, is excellent and definitely worth noting.

Overall, Scared Stiff falls short of where it could have had the plot been continued through the entire movie instead of just being predominantly in the beginning of the movie. However, the plot that is here is highly entertaining and well worth watching.

Scared Stiff was shot digitally and is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 1080p. There aren't any noticeable blemishes with the image quality. The image contains vibrant colors and the image is crisp and clear.

Scared Stiff is presented with an English Stereo audio track. There aren't any noticeable issues with the audio presentation at all either. The dialog in the movie is clear and easy to understand.

Scared Stiff is a fun gay hardcore spoof of mainstream horror films that features a great cast and some genuine laughs. Unfortunately, the plot falls apart as the movie goes on, however, the movie is well worth seeing for fans of the genre. NakedSword has done a great job with their streaming only version of the movie available on NakedSword.com with excellent video and audio quality.
