NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. That said, amateur and homemade features have a great charm to them, simple because the people in them are doing what they’re doing to have fun and because they enjoy it. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

Audio /Video Quality: As is pointed out on the Shot at Home website, the technical aspects aren't always the best here. The audio doesn't have much for background noises, but it is often a bit on the quiet side. The video is presented in the full frame format and looks like it was skewed down from the 1.85 widescreen ratio. There's a bit of pixelation, camera shake, and shadows as well that don't help things out, but at least Savannah and Cal seem to have a decent idea how to work the camera so I can't help but expect things to get better in the future.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower right corner. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

The Movie: Savannah is a cute brunette with a tight body. Her man Cal has sandy hair and a slim figure. They just happen to have a video camera and a playful attitude, so now we can see some of the fun they like to have.

Savannah starts out enjoying a popsicle on the couch and chatting playfully with Cal behind the camera. The action cuts to her running her hands around herself half covered with a blanket. Savannah pulls up her shirt to play with her tits and then moves her hands south to play with her pussy around her panties before sliding them off to rub herself at the source. Savannah moves around a bit more to play with herself, and looks to satisfy herself nicely.

Savannah starts the second scene in a dress with Cal complimenting her on how good she looks. They chat a bit having fun as Savannah teases him and puts on a bit of a show playing with herself in the middle of the floor as well as giving him plenty of killer smiles as they chat. The action moves to the bedroom where Savannah's changed panties and eagerly starts sucking Cal's cock. He grabs the camera to capture it POV style and urges her on vocally with Savannah putting in plenty of effort before laying back to get fucked missionary style. Finally Savannah looks to have a great orgasm and Cal appears to have dumped his load inside but we never get to see any proof.

Savannah starts out the third scene bent over a little table naked as Cal comes up behind her in the same manner of dress (or undress, as the case may be). Savannah and Cal 1 is a great debut release. As is pointed out on Shot at Home's website, this is a release that was in Savannah and Cal's personal collection, and if this is where they start I'm really looking forward to where they're going. I love the banter between them in the first couple scenes, and Savannah really knows how to put on a great tease. I love the attitude they both show towards sex and pleasing each other, and it's great to hear all the vocal support that Cal gives her as she works on him orally as well as to see how much she puts out riding him. The great chemistry one expects from a true homemade video is on full display here, and there's a nice mix of sex acts to go with it. I'll admit that the technical aspects were a little disappointing, but even though it's not quite up to the standard I normally expect from Shot at Home it's still a heck of a lot better than what I've seen from some other amateur companies. Add in that this may be an earlier homemade release for Savannah and Cal and I'm left hoping for some nice improvements all around after an already impressive start. Savannah and Cal do a great job in their first Shot at Home release, and have me eagerly looking forward to more from them.

The Extras: The preview reel is a little shorter than normal, and only lasts about twenty minutes.
