NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. That said, amateur and homemade features have a great charm to them, simple because the people in them are doing what they’re doing to have fun and because they enjoy it. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty poor, even by amateur porn standards. The audio is very low, and I had to crank the volume almost all the way up in order to hear anything. The video is worse, and shows the biggest danger of amateur porn. There's so much camera motion, lighting problems, and focus blurs that you might get higher quality video out of Uncle Ralph at Christmas after he's polished off the first half of the bottle of Crown Royal.

The Feature

Scene 1 – Sandy and three black guys

This scene didn't go a lot for me. Sandy's definitely a looker, but this scene might have been a little too amateurish for me. The lighting is horrible and the camera work isn't much better. Sandy gets into the action okay, but the audio is so low that you can't really hear anything she says to the guys. For me, not being able to hear them here really hurt the chemistry in the scene and I found myself having a hard time paying attention. This scene just didn't do it for me.

Scene 2 – Sandy and three black guys

Sandy starts out the second scene letting one of the black guys fuck her missionary style. They take a couple breaks for Sandy to suck the guy's cock a little more and for her to lube up her pussy, and even get in a little tongue sucking as he plays with her pussy. This is another scene that just didn't impress me much. It had the same problems as the previous scene for me, but at least you could hear Sandy a lot better here. The bigger problem was the scene cutting out, which brought the entire release down for me. I checked Karen Kay's website to see if this was supposed to be the end or not, but no running times are listed so I can't say. In the end, this is another below average scene.

Sandy #92 is a disappointing amateur movie. Although Sandy's good looking and gets into the action okay, almost everything else about the movie holds it back. The lighting is so low that you often can't tell where the guy's fucking her, and with all her partners being black they pretty much just blend into the shadows. The camera work's also horrible, and although it's kinda nice to hear Sandy's husband giving her a few suggestions during the action (such as eating some of the cum from her pussy), when it's combined with the rest of the movie it turns into another nail in the coffin. The final nail is the movie cutting off as it did. I'm not sure if this was meant to be or not, but the total running time of the DVD was ninety seven minutes rather than forty four. I'm not sure if this is just poor authoring overall or if something got missed here. Regardless, Sandy 92 leaves plenty to be desired, and doesn't let Karen Kay make the best first impression.

Currently, many of Karen Kay's DVDs can be found online at her website for about $20. Pass this one by. The sex is below average, and is held back even further by very poor technical aspects. As usual with amateur DVDs, there's no extras. This is a disappointing release.

Note to Karen Kay: I know you're an amateur studio, but a few little details would really help you out. First, if you're going to have editing breaks in the movie, do them quickly rather than going to a gray screen for five seconds. Also, a main menu, even if it just has a photo from the movie in the background is going to give a heck of a lot better first impression than the generic DVD-ROM opening screen you have here. Finally, a few extras would be nice. Include a bonus scene from one of your other releases and something about your website. These things should be easy to do, and will help make your product much more approachable to consumers.
