Sakura Tales 2 Review

“Sakura Tales 2” stars seven chicks and a bunch of cocks. Yeah, it’s one of those movies. Alex Ladd directs like a guy who enjoys seeing girls get nailed but doesn’t want to deal with the fact that he isn’t wielding the nail gun. So, except when unavoidable, the guys are reduced to their dicks, which have all the personality of a biological Sybian and aren’t as fun. With the machine, the girls only have to worry about getting themselves off; here, the burden of orgasm is on the dicks and that leads the girls into one rote position after another until the obligatory facial mercifully lets them off the hook.

Without question the worst scene in the film is the fourth, which is ideally suited to Ladd’s style. Lyla Lei, dressed—as all the girls are at some point—as a schoolgirl waits for a friend by the side of the road. A couple of yahoos drive up in a truck and sucker Lyla into sex with the promise of a ride. Lyla’s a willing patsy, of course: she plays the movie’s only confirmed slut. So she blows the guys, they screw her, they double-penetrate her, and they each in turn cum on her face. It isn’t rape, but from the dicks’ perspective it’s sport fucking with a vengeance. The facials that end this joyless scene find one of the stiffest, most uncomfortable marks you can imagine; Lyla’s head is thrown so far back that one of the guys has to forcibly lift it at one point so that the camera can record something more than her chin. “How bout that ride?” Lyla asks when they’re done. “Yeah, right,” one of them answers.

The other scenes aren’t anywhere near as bad as this one, but only a couple of them are reasonably good. The third scene is one of these. It starts as a lesbian encounter between a married woman (Jade Feng) and the girl (Loni) who screwed her husband. As a lesbian scene, the opening moments and positions are far too brief to be effective; as a threeway (Jade’s husband joins the action, of course), it’s considerably better. Part of this has to do with the photographic demands of a threeway: Ladd is forced to shoot the guy more often here than in any other scene—whether he likes it or not. That makes the scene play more like sex and less like dick-assisted masturbation. It helps that the three performers play together, too; it never degenerates into a couples scene with one masturbating onlooker.

Cover girl Sabrine Maui is saved for last, and hers is the movie’s other decent scene. Not that the sex is terribly good, but Sabrine is the curviest and prettiest girl in the cast; girls like her make the reverse cowgirl position something to watch. Sabrine wins the blowjob battle, as well. Lyla, whose literal interpretation of the term “giving head” is spectacularly unexciting to watch, brings up the rear, preceded by Nyomi Marcela, whose technique is only slightly more interesting. Aliyah Likit and Kimmy Kahn are timid half-shafters, but Sabrine’s approach, though she goes no deeper, is at least a lusty one.

With a movie like this one you take what you can get. Ladd’s understandable, if largely unmotivated, obsession with schoolgirls is, therefore, a plus. Aliyah looks delectable in her plaid skirt and black stockings, and Kimmy is sexy in a similar skirt with white knee-highs. Ladd doesn’t make much out of this, but at least he frontloads most of it into the masturbatory segments that precede each scene. This works because the “Sakura Tales 2” disc includes, in addition to its pop-shot option, an option to watch all the introductions back to back.
