Russian Angels

I’ve found the last two or three years have been an awkward time for the long term Clark viewer. I view Christoph as one of the most distinctive directors in porn, one of the people who others imitate, and certainly one of the handful of directors whose movies I always buy, yet on many occasions, I felt sure Christoph and I were going to part company. It wasn’t so much about wavering quality but rather about a puzzling uncertainty and a surprising susceptibility to the vagaries of porn trends that had me wondering where things were headed.

So what a joy, and indeed a relief, it is to simply bask in the sheer pleasure of Russian Angels. While Christoph may not have recaptured that very special, very particular vibe of my old favourite early editions of Euro Angels – and why should he, as times are changing - he now appears to once again be directing with purpose and making some bold decisions in the process.

For example, while it might seem like a tall order to feature only three girls in an entire 2 hour plus movie, the reality is that Christoph pulls off a real masterstroke by giving free reign to the abundant, creative sexuality of the stunning Cherry Jul, off the leash after some visually pleasant but strictly by-the-book formula fare for Denys De Francesco. With the equally adept Wiska providing full support and a guest turn from luscious busty Czech brunette Lucy, the prospects are good right from the kick off, and it’s a delight to report Christoph makes good on this promise.

First up, gorgeous leggy blonde Cherry teases and then pleases Steve Holmes and Mick Blue. As packed as this scene is with strong sex, including oral, anal, double penetration and more, the greatest enjoyment here comes from the sheer sexiness glowing from the fishnet clad Ms Jul who appears to take immense pleasure in her work. Let’s not be naïve – she’s more than experienced enough to know how to play the game, but frankly the look on her face when she is “coming” is absolutely delectable. She’s positively radiant, and what a treat it is to see her be so relaxed…not to mention to be so damn horny… and to laugh and smile as she repeatedly does in each of her scenes.

Cherry then teams up with her blonde compatriot Wiska and the two minxes, in matching scanty shorts and cut-out tops, hair in cute bunches, get stuck into each other with gusto before Omar Galanti arrives on the scene and they enjoy some milk enema action. It’s mostly Omar on the receiving end of the anal expulsions; the little devil on my shoulder says it would have been good to see the girls take a faceful, but what the hell. Everyone appears to have a whale of a time and naturally the girls’ asses are packed to the hilt with Signor Galanti’s sizeable tool.

Omar and Wiska return for a tour of the artworks in his house, but the real work of art is in the way the spiral staircase permits a delightful upskirt view! As Wiska is distracted by the not inconsiderable task of gobbling up Omar’s cock, Steve Holmes and Richard Langin sneak in and Wiska happily accommodates all three men. The action here moves at breakneck speed, with deep throat, DP and a double dose of double anal, but once again it’s really more of a pleasure to see how horny Wiska gets with all this male attention.

Finally, Cherry Jul and the delectably well-endowed Lucy, dressed rather like Beyoncé and Shakira in the latter part of the “Beautiful Liar” video (you know, where they’re wriggling up against a wall…let’s just take a moment for that thought…) tease Omar and David Perry before joining them on a big bed for a good, old-fashioned pile up! Only Cherry does anal here, but that matters little in truth as the action heats up, particularly in the later stages, as the girls’ mutual excitement seems to really drive each other on. Lots of sweaty, flushed faces – love the way Cherry seems to really enjoy Lucy too. Gosh.

My only real quibble is that while Christoph undeniably makes a lot of the girls’ natural personality, sometimes we hear them talking but it’s really Christoph speaking – in other words, perhaps a touch unnatural, but a lot of fun nonetheless. I’d just love to see more of them goofing around and generally having fun as part of the movie, not just in the behind the scenes.

It’s this joie de vivre that I reckon to be the essence of Clark’s best stuff – vibrant, energetic and colourful, Christoph improvising on the talents and personality of the cast to produce superb strong sex guided by a sympathetic hand. As I’ve probably noted before, Christoph seems to get away with stuff other directors can’t because of the empathy he appears to have with his cast, and that really shines through in Russian Angels, meaning that the viewer can share hard sex as a simple delight with girls who love to take genuine pleasure in their work, or at least give us such a good impression that performance and reality become indistinguishable.

In short, Russian Angels is about great tease, great sex and most of all a great cast. Christoph has found a new muse, and her name is Cherry Jul.
