Initial Expectations: Sensational has been more miss than hit due to a lack of skill or care behind the camera, but some of their rougher stuff has been pretty decent. I'm not going into this one with high expectations, but I do think it might have a chance.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects leave a fair amount to be desired. The audio is inconsistent in balance and level, and there's some very noticeable hissing in the background in some places. The video is presented in the full frame format and looks okay. It's shot as a mix of tripod and POV, with decent lighting and a pretty average looking picture.

Music: None

Menus: The main menu blends a small clip with a little minor animation for an okay first impression. The chapter menu nicely lets you choose a scene based not only on a still of the girl and her name, but lets you choose where you want to go in the scene based on a few clips from each scene and a description of the action in that clip

The Feature

Michael Kahn keeps things simple through this release. He starts out interviewing a girl for what she thinks is a modeling job only to let her know that it's an adult modeling job. He talks her into staying and then roughs her up as he has his way with her.

Dirty blonde Harmony starts out in a tan tied off top, jeans, and black flip flops rather surprised at the thought of modeling nude or doing any kind of sex scenes, but also confesses to really needing the money. She's also not too happy when Mike moves in and starts groping her including some hard squeezing of her tits through her top. He tests a few boundaries pinning her arms behind her, slapping her tits, face, and ass, and biting her nipples before continuing the treatment after having her change into some sexy black lingerie. This scene leaves most everything to be desired. Harmony looks good, and the only thing that kept me from turning off the scene is that knowledge that Harmony does like some of her sex on the rough side. Beyond that, this scene is wholly distasteful. Michael Kahn is balding, overweight, and far from attractive, and seems like about the only way he can get off is to take it out on a woman. The action looks to be captured almost completely from a tripod, and there's numerous camera edits to give it a sloppy and fairly choppy feeling that some might take to even be for Michael to coerce Harmony into finishing the scene (as many might not know that she does enjoy rough sex). This scene started off the movie poorly for me as well as giving one heck of a poor first impression for Michael Kahn.

Blonde Morgan starts the second scene in jeans and a little orange top that can't quite conceal her nipples talking with Michael and learning that she has come in for modeling that's adult and more. He moves in to grope her pierced tits, and grabs her by the throat as he slides a hand into her pants to check out her pussy. This is a below average scene. Once again it didn't start the most comfortable, but Morgan seemed to get into it pretty well and actually asks Michael to fuck her as the scene goes on. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be quite what Michael Kahn likes, as his dick seemed to get more limp all the time as Morgan urged him on rather than telling him to stop. This might be an easier scene to watch, but it didn't do much to change my initial feeling of Michael Kahn.

Brunette Tori stands up to let Michael check her out, and lets him know that she'll do whatever it takes to get the role in the movie. She's surprised, however, when he starts running a hand around her, and is a little more surprised when he tells her that the movie is of the adult nature. Tori lets him continue to grope her, but starts to push his hands away when he gets a little rougher and starts to choke her. He gives her ass a few slaps after pulling down her jeans, and gives her pussy a few slaps as well as he starts fingering it. Michael also plays with her dry asshole as she cries out in pain and looks like she's about to start crying as he thrusts his fingers into her mouth, slaps her face, and pulls out her tits to fondle. She unhappily changes into a sexy little white outfit and lets him grope her a little more before crying as he slaps her, plays with her pussy, and tells her how she's going to suck his cock. Tori gives in and after a couple more slaps sucks and strokes his cock with her eyes closed before letting him fuck her from behind as she whines and cries more. Not surprisingly, this is another scene that didn't do anything for me. Tori looks darn good, but her looking like she was on the verge of crying through much of the scene completely killed the scene for me. Like Harmony I know that she's a fan of rough sex, but just like in Harmony's scene I'm not sure that a lot of viewers know that and that makes this scene downright scary to watch at times for me. This was easily the hardest scene in the movie for me to get through.

Rough Auditions was almost a complete loss for me. I know that girls like Tory Lane and Harmony are into rougher action, and I will admit that they handled the role playing extremely well through the movie. At the same time, I was rarely comfortable watching the movie and was turned on even less. Michael Kahn seemed to have wood problems when the girls got into the sex, and it didn't help that he looked like Ed Powers' brother who was a few inches taller and a couple pounds lighter. Normally I'd knock off this movie and a review of it in a night without a problem, but Rough Interviews was so hard to watch that it seemed like a chore to watch every moment of it and I was looking for any distraction I could to not watch it. In the end, it ended up taking me nearly a week to get through a three scene movie that doesn't even last an hour and a half. I'm not sure I even want to keep Rough Interviews around to use as a coaster.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Sensational Video DVDs can be found online for between about $7 and $20 with several stores offering them near the low end. Skip this one. The movie is extremely hard to watch, and even for rough sex fans the technical skill behind the camera leaves it falling short. The technical aspects are below average and there's no real effort put into the extras. This should be an easy DVD to pass by.

Note to Sensational: It's great that you want to release different types of movies, but I'm glad to see that you're not releasing movies such as this anymore.
