INTRODUCTION:
The Rocco's Initiations series implies that we will be seeing new girls, or relatively new girls, engaged in those Rocco-istic anal acts that we all so love. Sara is the veteran of the group in this line up. For some people, this can be a nice turn on, but in this case, for me, it was just a distraction. There was no chemistry whatsoever between Tristano and Claudia and at points, I could have easily mistaken that pairing as a pro-am scene with Ed Powers--except with good production elements and a better looking male performer. Nicole was not the most exciting girl to watch, and although Melodie was a bit more energetic, I just wasn't very interested. The beginning of the scene and the setup was actually quite stimulating, but it somehow didn't follow through on its promise because of that lack of positional and sexual variety. Nicole's hairy bush didn't help me either, but there are plenty of people out there for whom that little characteristic will have a wholly opposite effect. For me, though, all these elements combined to produce boredom.

PRODUCTION QUALITY:
This is typical Rocco / Gabriel Zero style production, which is to say it is very good. The lighting is functional, even somewhat interesting at times, and the camera work was superb, providing the perfect mix of full body and close up shots as the situation merited. There were a few flub-ups, especially in the third scene when the sun caused a few camera problems, but all in all, this is solid production--typical of both Rocco and Evil Angel.

DVD QUALITY:
The video transfer was superb, which is no surprise for Evil Angel. The audio was quite disappointing at times though, and left me in the dark as to what the performers were saying (most notably during the set ups). The accents, of course, didn't help matters, but I still would have liked to hear them better. However, moans and breathing were there in good amounts, lest you think the audio didn't represent the sex faithfully--it was only in understanding words where the problems arose.

EXTRAS:
This disc comes with the normal compliment of Evil Angel extras, and again that's still saying something. There are videographies of those girls who had them, as well as the indispensable "Cast List By Scene" page--a truly wonderful tool that should never be taken for granted in terms of cast identification. There is also a biography of Rocco, a photo gallery, and the Evil Angel fetish menu featuring the ability to jump to sexual themes such as blowjobs, anal, pussy licking / rimming, double penetration, cumshots, and ass to mouth. Finally there is about 28 minutes of extra sex footage, featuring additional sex from all three scenes.

OVERALL:
This is an extremely difficult disc for me to rate. There are three scenes and the last two were decidedly average or below by my tastes. They feature some decent looking women, and the second scene especially definitely has its merits with regard to the large amount of kissing and overall oral action. Both scenes, though, fell short of real satisfaction. Certainly some people might like them, especially those who enjoy hairy bushes or that trepidation in performance that is sometimes encountered on these "new girl" types of vids. For me they did very little. HOWEVER, the first scene, which at an hour is the longest of the three, is by a very large margin, also the best. It featured three great looking girls, two more than capable studs, fantastic direction and camera work, and action that fits my porn tastes to a tee. I loved it, and in my eyes, the first scene alone is worth the purchase price of the disc; or at the very least it's worth a rental. My overall rating for the disc, therefore, will be average (2.5), with an additional full star tacked on for the merits of the first scene alone. If you're like me, after watching the first hour, you won't give a flying fuck what's on the rest of the disc anyway.
