Rocco: Animal Trainer 18

While it’s been quite a time since I actually sat down to write about an edition of Animal Trainer, I’ve nonetheless been keeping an eye continuously on the somewhat patchy progress of the series that ostensibly promises action with a wilder style, and all the while hoping that the next edition is going to mark a return to those awesome early volumes. So does AT18 make the grade?

The opening scene features a tall, slim brunette called Nicol (previously Ketrin) who made a modest impact in a cheeky little scene in Initiations 7, but really made a mark more recently in a most intriguing scene in Animal Trainer 17. Alas, this scene, even with the presence of the unspeakably cute and ever-eager Angelina Crow, is nothing of the sort. The set-up concerns Nicol fussing over her petite girlfriend keeping bad company with street urchin Jamaica, all of which is merely a pretext for Nicol to hang around looking moody as, back at their house, Angelina gets into a pretty robust anal scene with plenty of spluttering sucking thrown in.

Naturally, in a theme Rocco has played on a few times lately, the reluctant Nicol is inexorably drawn into the action and ends up being sturdily shafted and pushed into improbable positions by the irrepressible young Brazilian stud. While it’s nice to see Angelina, done up in scruffy stockings and heavy-handed make-up like some little Goth girl, being a little bitchy for once rather than her almost alarming cutie-pie routine, there’s little interaction between the girls and the high energy level and consistent screwing are pretty much all we’re left with long after the initially intriguing premise has lapsed into straightforward smut. Jamaica is undoubtedly talented in the delivery of the dick but he just doesn’t have his boss’s charisma or grasp of nuance needed to pull this kind of scene out of the realms of the ordinary.

Speaking of the boss, Rocco makes his sole performing appearance in the movie in this scene, kicking off round a work out session in the gym and pool area of that Prague hotel so often used for smut flick shoots over the years that I can only imagine stunned business travellers muttering into their All Bran about the porn stars bonking over the breakfast bar.

In this setting, then, a buxom blonde masseuse (Kathy Anderson) offers Rocco a special massage. While my general impression of this movie as a whole is one of moderate enjoyment, the prospect of the deliciously curvaceous Ms Anderson rubbing her oiled form all over a gentleman’s body is something that should appeal to even the most jaded of palates. Rocco certainly wastes no time getting stuck into her mighty ass – and what an ass it is – with tongue, and, in due course, his dick. Not even the arrival of another bikini babe in the shape of Milli Jay, a very attractive slim young brunette, puts the chap off. With typical nonchalant ease, Rocco embroils Milli in the action, encouraging her to suck the cock that she can barely fit in her sweet little mouth.

Milli doesn’t quite have Kathy’s capacity to cope with a stiff seeing-to, and indeed amusingly comments that Rocco is crazy as he pounds Kathy so hard that the stool on which she’s perched hops round the room in comedic fashion. Unfortunately, I tend to feel this is the highlight, as again two girls in one scene aren’t quite brought together in the way one might hope. Certainly Milli is gorgeous, Kathy’s abundant curves are alluring and the sex is pretty strong - the later anal for Kathy being particularly firm if not quite of the serious strength one might have associated with Animal Trainer at one stage, now some way in the past – but in the end it doesn’t quite come together in the way I anticipated. As sweet as Milli is, I would perhaps prefer to see Rocco give Kathy his full attention.

Another well-used location provides the backdrop for the concluding scene, as Jazz Duro takes “girlfriend” Liliane Tiger down to the rail yards of Brno (I believe) to fulfil her needs for a bit of rough. As Liliane wanders off among the carriages and loco sheds, Jazz strikes a deal with Franco Roccaforte to supply Liliane with the serious shagging that she’s supposedly seeking. Jamaica gets in their first when Liliane happens upon him, but the other two soon make him take his place in line as the tattooed little dumpling offers up all her orifices to three cocks against the grimy backdrop of the repair shop.

This is, in truth, very similar in style and spirit to the scene with Jane Darling in Euro Domination 2, and doubtless others besides, with a mild sense of male dominance and an abundance of anal sex that never really rises above the run of the mill. Jazz’s perhaps naive comment about “black gorillas” is, I fear, more likely to raise eyebrows than any of the sex action.

Despite her fine features and apparent enthusiasm, there’s something about Liliane that just doesn’t click with me – one does sense that sometimes, deep down, she’s just going through the motions. Maybe that’s unfair, and certainly it’s no more than my perception, but that’s the way it looks nonetheless. The sex also plays as a little awkward, a little uncomfortable – not in terms of pain or whatever for the actress, but more in terms of the setting and also letting the guys get their turn as they jostle for the position to fill in Liliane’s derriere.

In Conclusion…
The problem Animal Trainer 18 faces is that first few Animal Trainer movies really were events – each had some truly noteworthy moments that fans still savour today. Unfortunately, Animal Trainer 18 does little to boost the flagging standard of the series.

I know some fans lament the diminishing strength of the line, in terms of rough sex, but my problem with this is more about diminishing quality. I can understand that it is hard to continually produce seriously rough movies as there will be a limit to the number of performers prepared to entertain this sort of action, but I also wonder, based on comments in some recent backstage footage, if Rocco is struggling to find performers who really empathise with his ideas, as the first and last scenes here have initial potential in their scenarios that is lost once the sex is in full swing.

I have to add that it really pains me to be using phrases like “run of the mill” to describe a Rocco Siffredi movie because, as far as I’m concerned, when Rocco is on song he delivers the most stimulating and engaging porn on the scene today. For recent examples, I recommend a purchase of Rocco Ravishes Ibiza for Rocco at his flamboyant, passionate and provocative best, or perhaps a rental of Rocco Meats Trinity for the searing intensity of the title scene. Sadly for this particular series, while becoming 18 might mean you’ve only just come of age, at 18 Animal Trainer is looking ever so slightly over the hill.

DVD Comments
No real complaints about picture or sound quality, though still room for improvement in terms of the former. There’s the usual photo gallery and so forth, but there’s a strange sense of déjà vu about the extra footage – a lot of it seems remarkably similar to action in the main feature.
