Ritual Waves is a masturbation short film from director and star Lina Bembe. Before readers groan and go, not another masturbation movie, no Ritual Waves is not another masturbation movie. We all know the typical masturbation movie, a girl is featured and shot via relatively standard and predictable camera angles as she goes through the motions of getting herself off. Ritual Waves is not that movie.

Lina Bembe describes Ritual Waves as an “exercise of healing through affirmation.” Ritual Waves doesn't provide the viewer with the standard camera angles as the performer gets off in front of the camera lens. Instead, Lina Bembe takes the viewer on a journey through her pleasure. The viewer is taken for the complete ride with Lina Bembe.

In a pool of water, Lina Bembe starts pleasuring herself. Lina Bembe is not only bathed in the water but also bathed in soft light. As Lina Bembe continues to her self-pleasure journey, she acts out the stages of a baby in the womb until birth. Lina Bembe takes the viewer on this journey with her.

Max Disgrace beautifully shot Ritual Waves. Max Disgrace captures Lina Bembe perfectly throughout the short film. Ritual Waves will not be for everyone. It took a few viewings for this reviewer to get what was happening; however, the visuals were good enough the few viewings were enjoyable.

Ritual Waves was shot digitally and is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1. The picture quality for Ritual Waves is exceptional. There weren't any noticeable defects in the picture, and the short film's colors were excellent.

Ritual Waves is presented with a Stereo audio track. There isn't any dialog within the short film, and the music sounds beautiful throughout the short film.

There aren't any extras included with the streaming-only edition of Ritual Waves.

Ritual Waves is a unique and arty short masturbation film. Ritual Waves is beautiful to watch as Lina Bembe takes you on a journey of her pleasure. Ritual Waves won't be for everyone, especially since it challenges your brain while viewing, but for the right viewers, the short film is gratifying.
