This is an ambitious scene but leaves much left to be desired. On the one hand, it deals with the raw power of guns, and then deals with rough sex while trying to incorporate a desperate type of unrequited love in the same swing. There's a lot going on and as a result the action ends up seeming contrived.... the guns seem too plastic. There are short bursts of realism that sprout up every now and then but I was never suspended in their reality for too long. After the lesbian romp finishes and the cocks come out, the action starts to pick up though. There is no faking intensity when your mouth is getting rammed full of hard dick. Very intense throat gagging here but I'm not too big a fan of the blowjob- I'd rather see some fucking action because I think blowbangs get too repetitive after awhile.

The lighting gets very, very contrasty here. As long as the body silhoettes stay clean- i.e. the body outlines stay free from obstruction, it's all good. But once the bodies start coming into close contact, the lighting puts a hamper on the action. The sex is pretty good here but it just doesn't have the sexy visual imagery that makes up the groundwork for successful porn. What I did like is how Tiana squirts up against the stone wall. Her juices form a pretty arrangement on the wall, and its wet trace reveals exactly how her juices splashed around. Way sexier than squirting on a surface (like a leather couch) that doesn't show how it got soaked.

THE  BOTTOM  LINE

 

This is a pretty good movie and does well with mixing violence into the sex. The roughness doesn't interrupt the sex, it's more seamless than it should be. It's all very intense but what this movie lacks is the money shots that other movies have: i.e. reverse cowgirl anal or piledriver or doggy, etc. filmed to perfection. This movie just doesn't have those same elite angles nor the body positioning which allows it. Powerful sex but the visual element isn't as strong as it needs to be.

 

I enjoyed the Extras very much- it's nice to see interviews which are actually intelligent for a change. It's all because of Mason...the questions she asks, where she chooses to steer the conversation.

 

My favorite aspect of the movie wasn't the roughness, wasn't the degradation, wasn't the power struggle, namely, it was the simple fact that the videographer is a woman. I think Mason has a very sexy voice and it's refreshing to hear it as opposed to some brutish guy that normal wields the camera. Also refreshing is the fact that Mason interacts with the sex, commanding the performers to her will- a very clever idea- because she can direct the action at the same time she shoots it. She gets what she wants when she wants it instead of other directors who sit back and just let things unfold before their eyes for better or for worse.  In a way, Mason really is the third performer- unseen, yet a presence always felt.
