Initial Expectations: It's been a while since I've watched a Celeste movie, and her movies normally worked well for me. I'm looking forward to this one.

Initial Reaction: The sex is hot, but the movie is on the short side and the mood often doesn't feel that sexy.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of the cast or anybody wanting porn that's just slightly outside of the norm

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting nastier or happy sex

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects show some definite care. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice any background noises. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and also shows some very deliberate care. The lighting is very low through the movie, and leaves most of the background in shadows while giving the performers just enough illumination that they stand out and to let you see everything clearly. This look has been coming out of Digital Playground a bit more lately, and although it shows some definite skill behind the camera, it doesn't give the movie a mood that I'm that fond of.

Music: The music is nicely done, but doesn't seem quite right for a porno movie. It's soft both in style and balance, which can be a very nice thing, but combined with the low lighting of the movie it gives a lot of the movie an extremely melancholy feeling. This is something I never really look for in a porno, and if it had been mixed up with a few happier styles might have worked much better. Instead the music held the movie back a bit.

Menus: The main menu works together the boxcover with a little animation and action in the background for a nice first impression. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene, a chapter number, and the name of the girl for her first chapter.

The Feature

I'll admit that I was worried that the scene was over after the first position with how short the opening scene was, and was actually slightly distracted throughout this scene expecting it to be over at any time for the same reason. Instead Dani and Tommy come together to put out a very nice scene that works all around.

Scott moves down the bar and puts the moves on brunette Sindee before kissing her across the bar and then coming around the bar to continue kissing her. They head to a couch in the back of the bar where Scott has Sindee lay back so he can kiss his way down to her tits and then her pussy. That made all the difference for me here, and helped turn out one of the hottest, as well as one of the happiest, scenes in the movie.

This is a nicely done scene that works great for the movie.

Riley Steele Love Fool is a pretty hot light feature. It continues Digital Playground's recent style with a very light plot that loosely connects the scenes, as well as using very low lighting and basic camera work to give the movie a slightly more artistic feeling. Although this isn't a bad style, it is one that doesn't always work the best for me especially when it's combined with more melancholy music like it is here. It gives the movie a very dark feeling, and that's something that I really have to be in the right mood to get into. That said, the sex was passionate in each of the scenes, and with the energetic and vocal fuck that Riley Steele puts out in each of her three scenes I can't see any of her fans being disappointed here. Dani Jensen, Sindee Jennings, and Tori Black each do just as good of a job and there isn't a single scene here that even drops to the average level. At the same time, with the movie not even lasting an hour and a half I was also left wanting a little more fairly often both in story and sex. Riley Steele Love Fool might be a little inconsistent due to the movie's mood not always being the friendliest and is definitely on the short side, but it does have plenty of hot sex and should definitely please fans of Riley Steele.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery can be viewed either manually or as a slide show lasting about two minutes and a quarter with about four seconds per very nice looking snapshot or full screen photo. There's also weblinks, a behind the scenes featurette, and cumshot recaps.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts a little under nine minutes and is shot by Jamall Jhonson. After a quick message from the Governator, Jamall eyes Riley in the make-up chair and chats with her very briefly. There's a little of Robby D. working with Riley, Danny, and Ben before Riley gives a little eye candy. There's also a little eye candy and fun with Tori and a little more fun around the set before moving to the bar scene with Sindee and Scott as they jaw with Jamall. This is a nice little behind the scenes featurette. You get plenty of eye candy, a little personality, and a bit of fun around the set. There's nothing wildly special about it, but for its running time it works pretty well and does add to the overall DVD.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. This one's probably worth the money if you're a Riley Steele fan, but others might want to rent it. The sex is hot, but running time, style, and mood of the movie might make it one that doesn't have a lot of replay value. The technical aspects show some very nice care and there's also a bit of care put into the extras. This is a good release.

Note to Digital Playground: If you're going to release movies this short I wish you'd put a little more effort into the extras.
