Initial Expectations: Kat has made some fun little movies. I like the idea she’s going with here, and am going in with fairly high expectations.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is nicely done and free of any background noises. The video mixes non-anamorphic widescreen with full screen footage, with the greater proportion being full screen. It has some slight grain, which is fairly normal with the soft look Kat likes to use, and is nicely lit.

Music: None

Menus: The main menu is okay, and works together a still with a clip from the movie. The chapter menu is much nicer, and gives you a clip from the movie and the names of the girls in each scene to help you make your selection. There’s also Select a Star which gives you a menu of each scene based on the female talent.

The Feature

Reel Joe takes reality TV to the adult world. “Reel Joe” Damon is put into a house filled with porn stars to see if he has what it takes to be a porn star. He has to choose one girl to do a scene with based on his time throughout the house, while Dirty Sanchez makes his way around as the host.

Scene 1 - Aurora Snow, Phoenix Ray, and Jay Ashley

After the group plays a little spin the bottle, Aurora and Jay have a little fun with Phoenix. Aurora sucks her tit before laying back for Phoenix to eat her. She moves up to ride Phoenix’s face while Jay works her over down below, and then moves down to let Jay eat her while Phoenix sucks his cock. Scene 2 - Melody Max and Joey Ray

This is another good scene. It has a fun start, but Joey’s definitely showing some age. Scene 3 - Angela Crystal and Tristan Seagal

Angela and Tristan start their scene out with an interview about being a real life couple in porn before kissing passionately on a couch. Tristan works his mouth across Angela’s body, starting at her tits and working down to her pussy before letting her suck his cock. This is a pretty good scene. It seems a bit more laid back than the other scenes, and Tristan’s pop at the end is very disappointing. There’s also an editing break before it that gives the impression of wood problems. Angela, on the other hand, seemed very nice and put out some great energy. This is a pretty good scene that’s a bit hit or miss.

Scene 4 - Anna Mills and Aurora Snow

Anna and Aurora start out the penultimate scene playing around on a bed and teasing each other. Anna puts a crotch rope on aurora and kisses her way softly down to Aurora’s pussy. She gives Aurora a bit of fingering before fucking her with a dildo. The girls take turns fucking each other missionary style before grinding their pussies together and letting the scene fade out.

This is a great scene up to the ending. The girls have excellent chemistry and some very nice energy. The scene just has a great balance to the sex and a great feeling to it. Sadly, it’s really hurt by the cut off ending which leaves the scene feeling like there’s still a lot more to go between the girls.

Scene 5 - Honney Bunny and Joe Damon

Finally, Damon decides to take on Honney. She sucks and strokes his cock before letting him fuck her missionary style. She turns around to let him fuck her doggie style and then strokes him to a facial.

This is a below average scene, and easily the worst in the movie. I know that many expect this with new talent, but the only really bad thing about Damon was his disappointing pop. The main problem here was Honney, who seemed extremely fake and fairly boring. She talked about being dominant before the scene, but none of it came out. This is a poor ending to the movie.

Reel Joe is a good idea that needs a little more polish. It does a nice job capturing personality from the adult talent, but “Reel Joe” Damon barely seems to be around. In a reality show, some of the fun is guessing who’s going to end up with who, and with Damon barely showing up it hurt the reality show feel and ended up feeling more like a regular porno. It could have used more “reality show” non-sex scenes to help with the overall feel of the movie, as well as showing a few position changes in the sex scenes. The scenes often felt a little short as well. On the positive side of things, the locations were elegant, there was a nice mix of angles and positions, and things always felt fun. There’s also some very nice credits to let you know who’s who, although a few more id’s during the movie would have been nice. Reel Joe is a nice idea that should make a great adult movie with a few tweaks.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts a little over a minute with about six seconds per nicely framed photo. Trailers are included for Young Girls Fantasies 8, Circle of Deceit, Barely Legal 47, Young Latin Girls 11, Barely Legal All Stars 1, and Busty Beauties 11. There’s also a behind the scenes featurette, a commercial for Hustler, web site information, and phone sex crap.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about seven and a half minutes and is once again hosted by Dirty Sanchez as he talks with the girls and fools around. There’s a little footage from the movie that’s repeated here, but you also get to see some of Melody and Joey’s scene being shot. Angela’s photo shoot and scene are also captured a bit, but some of the audio is missing for some reason. It’s a decent behind the scene featurette, but it has a sharp ending that feels cut off. It also left me a little disappointed because it didn’t include any of Kat Slater, who in addition to being a hottie is normally a lot of fun and has some nice things to add. This is a pretty good behind the scenes featurette, but could have been better with a few minor changes.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Hustler’s DVDs can be found online for between about $10 to $25 with a few stores offering hem near the low end. At the low end this one would be pretty good. The sex is okay, but the reality show aspect is grossly underplayed. The technical aspects are pretty good, and there’s some nice effort put into the extras.
