Reality 20: Forbidden Games Review

It's been awhile since I saw Private title for the last time, and was wondering how they are doing. My choice was based purely on the cover this time. I thought, "Hey, reality!! That sounds interesting." Maybe they started making some kind of reality-porn.

Feature

Well, the best way to describe the content of this DVD is to compare it to television. It's like you are watching PrivateTV for one and a half hours. This disc is a strange mix of porno featurettes, several "The Making Of" videos, and a porn photo session.

The fencing master

First small featurette. "Two enslaved students learn to wield the sword and the cock of their master." I almost spilled my coffee when I heard that. First we get to see short intro-sequence: two chicks are practicing (modern) fencing and being instructed by the master. After that, a cut to them lying naked and playing with each other. All of this is shown in slo-mo, artsy style. The girls, which by the way can be seen on the box cover art, get interrupted by the dude who claims that it's not the right way. The girls agree, and start working on his cock. The blonde one then rides the master in RC, the brunette rides him as normal cowgirl afterwards. They the both assume doggie style position next to each other, and the master first fucks brunette's pussy, and then goes for blonde's ass. In the end, he switches to her pussy (A2P) and gives a few thrusts before shooting in brunette's mouth, who, in the meantime, positioned herself underneath them. This is quite hot scene, but, in my opinion, it was slightly spoiled by some graphic filter that's been applied to the video and made it look very smooth and "artsy". I think somebody thought it would look cool, but such creativity has never really impressed me. Score:

On Air

Another featurette with Dora Venter. A guy in some studio, probably a video engineer, is watching porn on one of the monitors and gets excited. His female colleague joins him and after a few moments, the guy's hand find its way to her crotch.. First she is sort of "surprised", but the she suddenly jumps him. They run to some narrow hallway and start making out, but after a few moments decide to find more secluded spot and sound recording room seems like the perfect place; but they get spotted by the sound guy who also wants some action. He joins the couple, but accidentally flips the switch that activates the microphone in the room, and so the noises are heard in the whole studio. The sex starts with Dora sucking off both guys. She the sits on a stool, and the first stud fucks in mish. The other dude then pounds her from behind and after some time, switches to anal. They finish things off with the "aerial" DP with both dudes holding Dora. Both guys cum on her tits and partially in her mouth. This is a fun scene with some comedy in it. Score:

The making of "The Scottish Loveknot"

Not sure what I should say here, other than it's a TMO documentary. Another big budget movie from Private. I do find it funny how these guys sound so serious about what they are making. It's as if they are working on Lord of the Rings trilogy instead of smut. Hehe!

Aces

First I must apologize. I haven't been able to view this scene entirely. My DVD-ROM player kept freezing in the beginning of the sequence. I tried my regular DVD player -- exactly the same thing. Can't really be certain about whose fault this is, but there have been reports here at ADT forums that some new DVDs may not play flawlessly on somewhat older hardware. Well, mine is about 1.5 years old, and if they are too old, I really think it's unacceptable. This is, by the way, the VERY first time I've experienced "fatal" disc-reading failure (to the point of ejecting the disc and restarting). Okay, so what about the scene? I managed to skip past the screwy intro segment using some tricks with software. This is another small stand-alone movie, featuring Tera Joy and two dudes. Don't know exactly what the plot is, but it has something to do with the game of poker which, naturally, leads to sex. Tera was poked in doggie style, spooning, RC and mish. One guy pulled out and came on her stomach, and then continued to fuck her in mish. Another guy was jerked off and blew in midair. There was no anal as far as I could tell. I think this scene was pretty hot and kind of "unorthodox", but again it was heavily post-processed to appear "artistic". The contrast was boosted by 200% so that the background was almost completely white. Tera's performance in this was impressive though. Score:

Photoset..with Monica Sweetheart

This is a short video clip of Monica being photographed somewhere outside. She's looking gorgeous and also has two cocks at her disposal. We get to see BJ, vag. sex, anal and DP. Technically though, this isn't really a sex scene. The guys just insert their cocks and pose for the camera; there is no actual fucking. Monica receives two facials in the end.

A very short promo clip of Gianfranco Romagnoli's movie. I won't really call it "The making of".

Air Shopping

Last featurette on this DVD. Angelica is wearing fishnet catsuit, and posing in a rather psychedelic, pop-artsy room. First, she plays with herself but then we see two supposedly blind guys who gently probe her with their walking sticks (yeah..right). They examine her body, rip off some fishnets and rub her pussy. Angelica sucks off the first guy, and the other one fucks her from behind. A cut to RC riding. One of the dudes goes for her ass in side saddle position. Finally, Agelica gets DP'ed. One fellow (underneath) just pulls out and shoots on her buttocks. Another guy, gives Angelica facial. I liked the camera work in this scene; it produced several, very nice, erotic shots. However, I wasn't that impressed with the editing. Again, it just jumps between positions without actually showing people assuming those positions. That's disrupts the natural flow of the action, and makes everything look like a slideshow, but that's something you see in a lot of Private videos. Score:

Final Thoughts

Actually, me and Private go a long way back. In mid 90s, I used to live in a small town (in Europe) and it had only one video store. The only porn that was available there was.. yep, you guessed it, Private. I think I watched almost all their stuff from that period. Beautiful girls, nice and usually exotic locations, but rather boring sex -- that's how I would describe Private, but apparently, it works for a lot of people. Okay, about this particular DVD. I am not sure I totally get the idea behind this concept. This looks like a portfolio DVD. If I were Private representative and somebody asked me what Private produces, I would send him/her this DVD to show what the company is about. From customer's perspective, it looks like they mixed some porn with stuff you would usually find in Extras section. This is strange, actually, because the box cover claims the two TMO clips are part of the Extras, yet on the disc, they are in the "main feature". Is this a new technique to artificially increase runtime? Uh uh uh, Private. We don't like such practices.

My major point of criticism is the technical glitch, mentioned in the scene breakdown section above. The "Aces" scene was therefore almost unwatchable. Granted, I can't be totally sure that it's their fault, but this has never happened to me before; not with porn, not with mainstream DVDs. And if it happened to me, it might happen to somebody else (unless this was some kind of exception). Either way, I was very disappointed by this accident, especially because Private is such a big company which I think can afford some quality assurance.

Conclusion

If you like Private style, you might want to rent this, but be aware of two things. First, there might be DVD reading problems, especially if you don't have state-of-the-art player; and secondly, keep in mind that you only get about 65 minutes of "normal" porn, and not "100 minutes" promised on the box cover art. I can't really count Monica Sweetheart's photoset and two TMOs as valid scenes, but their runtime are added to the total runtime.
