Fingers
crossed for better from this, Private's most frivolous of series. It might
be designed to pique your interest in Private's latest stars and directors,
but much of the evidence I've seen before has had the opposite effect.
The beautiful girls are here in abundance once more in another series
of sexy shorts and on-set reports, but will they prove to be anything
more than the usual fast-food porn?
The Audition
One of the less established talents in the Private empire, German director
Tom Herold is one who I've considered guilty of favouring style over substance,
but I must admit immediately that this is easily the best scene I've seen
from him to date. His simple but highly effective set-up shows just what
can be done with a stage, some lights, a plastic chair…oh yes, and some
beautiful girls!
So what goes on? With Herold's stark lighting and solid camerawork creating
an impressive atmosphere, a group of girls audition for a part, but only
two get it, if you'll excuse the laboured double entendre, from Andrea.
He has the cheeky, vivacious blonde Viktorie and winsomely smiling busty
brunette Misty showing how they can kiss, with feeling. Andrea joins them
onstage as the clothes come off. The girls give him some head; Viktorie
straddles and rides him energetically. Andrea brings his own passion to
the sex, making for some unexpectedly lively action with both girls, including
anal for Misty. The three end up curled together on the stage as the lights
go out on a scene that makes ideal use of the vignette format. Incidentally,
the location appears to be the same hall used by Nacho for the legendary
KP casting!
Private Café - Report
Taking a glossy look at Catalan director Xavi Dominguez's ambitious Private
Café project, this report certainly makes a solid case for the quality
of its subject. Bear in mind that Private's reports of this type are always
prone to hyperbole while being typically light on genuine reporting. It's
ironic that the moments of greatest interest, some Spanish-language interview
material with Dominguez, sadly have no English subtitles or translation.
Anyway, Sandra Russo, Rita Faltoyano, Ramon Nomar, Toni Ribas and the
veteran Alban Ceray are among the stars in what certainly looks like a
cut above the usual. Private Café appears to be a television series, presumably
for Private's cable output, with a heavy emphasis on quality production,
script, acting etc but I can offer no judgement on that., but I do recall
being impressed by the sole example of Dominguez's work that I've seen
- a slick, well made scene with Nomar, Ribas and Evans called Sex in the
Elevator. For those who pay attention to these things, Private Café itself
is a club in Barcelona used as a location by Ribas himself in Enjoy 3.
Checkmate
The delightful Simony, oddly sporting a blonde wig, stars in a scene faithful
to the vivid, bubbly style of its director Gianni di Palma's photographs.
Our girl is in a mischievous mood as she interrupts Thomas Stone and Black
Jack as they play chess. It's time for the chaps to pay her some
attention. Simony gives and receives head and then is laid out on the
table with a cock at each end. The sex is perhaps no great shakes but
di Palma's appreciation of colour provides for vibrant visuals, candyfloss
colours make it a sweet treat. Red lips wrap lewdly round cocks, dainty

camera as one of the guys - it's hard to say who as the focus is squarely

Aside from the wig, there are a few faults - the sound doesn't quite seem
to match as some liberties are taken with the editing, especially around
a few shots where Simony's expression suggests discomfort, and the constant
daft comedic music is a constant, if minor, irritation. Otherwise, it's
a sweetly sexy confection, ending with Simony taking two cocks in her
mouth at once prior to giggling her way through the come shots: one guy
spurts on her wriggling tootsies and the other comes on her face.
Disco Fever
Tom Herold's at the helm once more, as the always-watchable Czech brunette
minx Jennifer Dark arrives with her man Andrea at a rather tacky Hawaiian
style nightclub. She gives barman George a seemingly special CD to play,
and their dirty dancing transports her, by the magic of video, into a
fantasy scene where she's naked with the two men at her disposal. Once
again the visuals are quietly impressive but not totally consistent, reverting
to a more standard look for the sex, which is the part that I care about.
Jenny from the block usually likes it fairly strong, but is there room
for such action here?
Well, yes and no. Jennifer sucks the guys and keeps sucking as George
firmly fucks her over a barstool. Energy levels are high as she rides
Andrea while blowing George, and stay high as the chaps sandwich Jennifer
in a standing double penetration. All too soon, however, she's wickedly
demanding their sperm. Two loads in her face later, she's sucking and
stroking their cocks while looking quite pleased with herself. Though
the sex is lively, it's all over before you know - it's not enough to
get your teeth into. More incidentals: spot Jini J as an extra in the
first scene as well as this one, which happens to be shot in a location
used in Teo's Chasin Tail 4. It's a small world.
Island Fever - Report
I've yet to witness a full feature from Tom Herold, but this alleged report
on his Ibiza-based Island Fever number is hardly serious encouragement
to investigate further. I wonder how often Private will re-tread the sun,
sea and sex formula. Anyway, this clip is a seemingly random assortment
of sunbathing, sex action and behind-the-scenes silliness, and it's barely
worthy of a mention, never mind taking up space on this DVD. A few glimpses
of lovely girls like Soffie and Maya, that's about it. Who wants to see
Steve Hooper showing his arse, I ask you?
Sex Souvenir
By contrast with that glitzy fluff, here's some good old, meat 'n' potatoes,
no-frills sex action from Jean-Yves Le Castel. David Perry is already
eating and then fingering Vivienne La Roche's pussy as the scene begins.
The red head looks good, all naked and with her hair a lighter shade than
usual. After a little rimming, she returns the favour, her peachy ass
raised invitingly as she kneels on the bed, sucking him. Her pert teats
hang just so as she rides David, and while there are some sexy glances
between the pair hinting at pretty good chemistry, it strikes me that
Vivienne has pretty good chemistry with anything in trousers!
Vivienne's forte, however, is anal sex and there's plenty on offer. From
spoons, via a little ass-to-mouth oral, she gets on top. David fucks her
fast and delves into her bum with his fingers. Of course, it wouldn't
be a Le Castel scene without some gaping anus shots, and they duly deliver,

is a very simple but briskly energetic scene with a good rapport between
the pair - nothing especially startling but enjoyable enough to watch.
The Sauna
Here's another simple but quite easy on the eye affair, with the ravishing
Alexa Mai finding her dildo play in the sauna becomes a light "lesbian"
tangle with slim blonde Nikita. The meaningful looks to camera are laid
on a little thick, but Alexa's just so pretty. While few girls can compete
with this, Nikita does have a lovely body. Csoky joins in their oily massage,

The ensuing sex is reasonably lively and shows off both girls fairly well,
but there's a real absence of any semblance of passion.
It does get a little stronger, though, with Nikita accepting Csoky's cock

double penetrated, while Alexa merely hangs around, looking gorgeous.

during the sex. I've only seen a couple of scenes, at best, where her
icy composure has melted. This, while the colourful direction of John
Palmer, AKA Gianni di Palma, is pleasant enough, is not one of them.
Overall
While still being no must-buy classic in itself, Private Reality 18 is
better than the preceding edition of the series, if only by a small margin.
Though there's again an emphasis of style over substance, it's a fairly
slick collection with the likes of Tom Herold and Gianni di Palma doing
a little better in balancing visual quality with some better sex. I found
Herold's contribution in particular to be quietly impressive, though it
still wouldn't hurt to shoot some meatier sex. It should go without saying
that the girls are gorgeous.
What continues to annoy me with this series is that it all feels like
it's been edited with one eye on the clock, rather than in a manner that's
sympathetic with the sex scenes. It simply doesn't feel like value for
money, in the end, with the backstage reports being as light on worthwhile
information as ever. Private Reality 18 might fit the bill if some distinctly
quick fire sex action is what's needed - for something more substantial,
you'll have to look elsewhere.
DVD Comments
The picture quality is very good indeed and the sound is clear, the drawback
being that some fairly cheesy music comes through loud 'n' clear. The
selection of extras is fairly average - photo gallery, cast profiles,
production notes and trailers. It does not include any extra "making of"
clips, as suggested on the box cover - these are included in the running
time of the main feature.
