Initial Expectations: Most of Adam & Eve’s Premium Collection titles I’ve seen have been very good. I’m hoping this is another of them.

Initial Reaction: It’s okay but nothing with a lot of replay value.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is normally pretty clear and well balanced, but there are a few spots that appear pretty obviously dubbed. There are also a few places where it’s a little hollow, but normally it’s very good. In a great touch, and what I think is a step ahead for adult films, Raging Lust is done in anamorphic widescreen. I really have to like directors that do this, as it normally shows that the director really cares about the product and is trying to give the viewer the best possible way to see the feature. Unfortunately, there’s quite a few places soft focus problems which brings things down a bit.

Music: Saint provides the music, which is almost always a good thing. There’s a fairly distinct style to Saint’s music, but it can also have a nice range of styles. The music is a little loud through much of the feature, although it doesn’t cover up the entire audio.

Menus: The main menu is nicely done and fits the feature very well with some nice clips and audio. The chapter menu allows you to choose a scene based on a clip of the scene and a scene number. It also allows you to choose between starting at the beginning of the scene or going directly to the pop shot with Adam & Eve’s Hot Shot feature.

The Feature: Boxer Bobby Steele (Dillion Day) has yet to be defeated in the ring. Unfortunately, when you’re at the top of the pile, it can just be all the further to fall and there’s plenty of people willing to help you down. Duke Denning (Dale DaBone) is one of them, thinking it’s his turn, and boxing promoter Leyland King (Mark Anthony) is also more than eager, telling Bobby to take a fall. To help convince Bobby, Leyland has Annie (Jody Moore), who he tells Bobby will take a fall if he doesn’t.

Raging Lust has a good idea, and some above average execution, but doesn’t get a knockout. Monica Mayhem and especially Kristina Black turn in great performances and help turn this one from getting thrown out of the ring. The storyline is pretty well done, especially for porn, and fits the sex in fairly well. The main thing holding it back is the technical aspects, with frequent soft focus problems interfering with the feature. I’d recommend renting this one first unless you’re a big fan of the stars.

Extras: Bios are included for Nikki Fairchild, Monica Mayhem, Dillion Day, and Dale DaBone. As Adam & Eve have been doing lately, the bios are done in an interview form and last between five and a half minutes and twelve minutes. Each star talks about things like how they got in the business, how their name came about, their first film, their hobbies, and what they hope to do after porn. There’s also a few fast facts about each star that’s flashes up during the interview that give a little other personal interview. It’s a great way to handle star bios and one that I hope to see Adam & Eve continue in the future.

Trailers are included for Beauty & The Bitch, A Devil’s Tail, After Midnight, The Edge, and Naked Hollywood 2: Lust or Love. The photo gallery contains twenty snapshots. They’re nicely organized as thumbnails, and as you select them they blow up to near-full screen size. Two bonus scenes are included, one from The Edge and the other from After Midnight. The scene from The Edge stars Steven St. Croix, Chloe, and Ava Vincent and is a real winner of a scene. There’s also a bad pixelation flash towards the end of the scene.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about seventeen and a half minutes. There’s short interviews with Dale DaBone, Jody Moore, Jacynda, and Monica Mayhem that are very nice. As usual, Dale goes a little overboard, but he does give a little information as well. The girls all give quite a bit of information about themselves, which gives you a nice chance to see them as people. There aren’t many sequences shown for the making of the feature or the cast screwing around, but it does give you a nice chance to get a feel for many of the stars.

Overall: As with most of Adam & Eve’s Premium Collection titles, I expect Raging Lust to be available online for between $15 and $25 with quite a few stores offering it for under $20. I’d recommend renting this one first. The sex lacks chemistry in a couple scenes, and the amount of soft focus problems might turn some people off. The extras do add quite a bit, but if you’re just looking for sex, you might want to check out another match-up.

Note to Adam & Eve: Please pay a little more attention to either your camera work or editing. The amount of soft focus problems were very distracting here.
