Private Penthouse 4: Dangerous Things 2 Review

Initial Expectations: Private has a great reputation and Silvia Saint has been amazing in almost everything I’ve seen her in. I can’t help but have high expectations for Dangerous Things 2 .

Initial Reaction: Wow. It’s hot and has a decent plot. I can’t wait for the third part and I have to pick up the first part.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio isn’t balanced too well. The dialogue is too soft and often hard to hear. It’s also dubbed badly. The video is a mix of color and black and white. It’s very clear except when it’s not meant to be.

Music: The musical style varies and includes both techno and rap. It’s fitting but way too loud.

Review: Although I haven’t seen the first installment of Dangerous Things , I expected to be able to jump right into Dangerous Things 2 . Private’s larger releases seem to be a little slower paced, which allows new watchers to not feel too left out. Besides, I figured it’s porno so it couldn’t be too difficult to understand. This one is no different and the short intro at the start of the movie brought me right up to speed.

Silvia Saint plays an author who finds herself unable to keep up with her fans’ demands. At one of her book signings she meets Victor, a tall, handsome man who always seems to dress in dark clothes. He gives her some inspiration and she finds herself going down a slightly darker road than she’s used to. When she finds her husband cheating on her, she heads to Brazil for inspiration. Before long, she finds herself plagued by strange dreams and starts to feel like she’s losing control. It’s a decent plot and allows the sex to be a little more creative than normal.

The creativity shows itself in several scenes and the plot works around it to the point that a lot of times you’re not sure if things are happening in Silvia’s dreams or her reality. Sometimes you have a strong feeling that things are happening in her dreams. When Estelle takes on two guys a dungeon setting is used and the guys mount her on an altar while Victor watches. It’s a very hot scene that uses the darkness of the dungeon to bring out some darker sex. Estelle really caught my eye as she wears a garter in the scene. It’s sexy but not something that one sees much.

Several of the scenes seem to take place in Silvia’s reality. When she goes to the beach with Nacho Vidal they go at it as the surf rolls in around them. It’s very sexy and works around Silvia trying to relax as the dreams are plaguing her. It could have been a little hotter, but the editing got in the way of the sex a little bit. It’s sad as both Nacho and Silvia can turn out a great scene on their own. Putting them together should have made this one of the hottest scenes in the movie rather than one of the weakest.

Silvia also has sex with her friend Miguel (I have no clue who plays him other than he’s a native Brazilian) in a pool in what appears to be her reality. This scene is a lot hotter than her scene with Nacho thanks to the editing. There are some very nice angles used that make the scene very sexy.

You also feel that when Maria has sex with a guy in the bedroom that it takes place in Silvia’s reality. This is another extremely hot scene, part of which is due to Maria seeming to have so much fun in the scene. The heat builds very well throughout the scene making this one of my favorite scenes in the movie.

Nacho also has a couple scenes with Lea. Lea is a natural looking bleached blonde with natural tits to match her looks. This doesn’t mean that she can’t smoke in a scene. Her first scene with Nacho takes place outside as they slip away for a few minutes. It’s short but has some definite heat. It really leaves you wanting more. Luckily, you’re granted that with when she and Nacho go sailing with Miguel. This scene is very well done. I wouldn’t have expected the technical quality to be as good as it is with a scene like this. Between the rolling of the boat and being an outdoor scene I expected a lot of noise and motion. Neither are present and it lets you fully concentrate on the sex without getting pissed off at the distractions.

Other scenes you’re not sure about. They could be happening in reality or they could be in Silvia’s dreams. In one scene, Silvia is led into a white room by Victor where they watch Sonia work on two other guys. I wasn’t impressed with this as the picture was very jerky. I was much happier, however, when one of the guys broke away to draw Silvia into the action. The scene really picked up here. There wasn’t any real interaction between the two couples, but the scene was hot enough as is that it didn’t need the extra action. The only interaction between the two couples is Silvia and Sonia kissing at the end of it.

The final scene starts with Victor playing the organ while Nacho, Melody, Dora, and another guy get busy below him. The wall behind him has sculptures of people and angels that move around as he plays. It’s a very artistic feel and gives a lot of mystery to the sex below. Silvia walks into the room during the scene but hides in the background and watches, half shocked. In the middle of the scene the guys switch partners, but Silvia stays in the background, unknown to the others. This was my other favorite scene in the movie. The sex is hot but it’s wrapped in with some of the mystery of the plot. It also has a lot of creativity around it that makes the scene stand out from the average cookie cutter sex scene. It leads into a very good ending for this installment and really makes me wonder what’s ahead sexually.

The sex in Dangerous Things 2 has some things that set it apart from American porn. The women receive very little oral sex. I’m used to American porn where there’s a certain degree of reciprocity. That doesn’t exist here. Also, the girls play to the camera a lot more. When they take a facial, they often look into the camera as they play with the spunk and lick their faces. If not for the plot, I’d consider this pure male wanking material. Of course, it’s also a lot more hardcore. Most scenes have anal sex in them and if a girl takes on two guys you’re almost guaranteed a double penetration. Surprisingly, Silvia doesn’t do a single anal scene here. It’s almost too bad as she does it so nicely.

Dangerous Things 2 is a nice change from the typical American porn. It has some very hot sex and it puts it together with a decent plot. You pay a little more for Private DVDs, but after watching a few of them, I’m willing to pay the extra money for what they give you. This one is no exception.

Extras: Trailers are included for Dangerous Things 2, Erica, Solid Gold, Hells Belles, Madness, and Double Penetrations . There’s also bios for Silvia Saint, Dora, Lea de Mae, Maria, Melody Kord, and Sonia Smith. They give a little personal information as well as a list of titles that the star appears in. The photo gallery is manual and contains about fifty very clear pictures.

There’s also some very nice behind the scenes extras. Production notes cover things about the location, plot, and the movie. The Report is a short featurette lasting about six and three quarter minutes that includes an interview with Silvia as well as a lot of other behind the scenes stuff. I really enjoy both of these extras and I wish other studios would follow suit with them. The production notes would be very easy to add to DVDs and the behind the scenes featurette is always welcome.

Overall: Currently, Dangerous Things 2 can be found online for between $25 and $30 with most stores offering it for under $27 like almost any other Private releases. It’s got a decent plot, a good transfer, great extras, oh yeah, and hot sex with Silvia Saint! If you’re looking for something just a little bit different or are a fan of Silvia you won’t be disappointed.

Note to Private: Please drop your multi-angle icon on the screen. DVD players will do it on their own and most people don’t like the icon covering up the picture.
