What’s in my DVD player (mainstream): Prime Suspect
This British crime series starring Helen Mirren as Jane Tennyson is raved as one of the best BBC shows ever and it did not disappoint this viewer after watching the 1st 5 seasons. The DVDs are a bit expensive for such few hours of material so you might be better waiting for PBS re-telecasts.

My short review:
I wasn’t familiar with Cristina, who is an attractive Czech with a nice body and long, black hair but I’m such a big fan of this series that I’ll trust Private’s judgment with the release of this edition. As typical with every Private Life of edition, every scene in this 2-disc flick will feature Cristina from a Private release.

Disc 1:
The first disc contains 7 scenes with a running interview segment of Cristina in between the sex scenes. The interview segment was voice-over dubbed in English and that was a major disappointment. How does the viewer know that the translation is accurate or that it was altered for “better” answers? I would have preferred subtitles instead of the translated dubbing.

The 7 scenes in the 1st disc were sourced from the Private catalog and all contain anal sex except for the lesbian scene:

There are 6 other scenes from Cristina’s work with Private and they all contain anal action. See below for a listing of the scene sources. Also, there is some more of the interview segment but it was boring. What is conspicuous by its absence is the standard PLO quiz game where answering a set of questions rewards you with a strip tease act and a bonus scene. Why did Private omit this quiz game?

Summary:
I’m giving this a lukewarm recommendation. If you have read my other PLO reviews here at ADT, you will note that I’m a big fan of this series and to be honest, this was the weakest edition that I have seen. To put that into context, I’ve been mightily impressed with the 5 or so that I had seen.

The interview segment was lacking and wasn’t helped by the dubbing and the scenes were good but not special enough. There was no quiz game, which might indicate the lack of attention put into the DVD production. I’m not sure that Cristina’s body of work with Private warranted an edition of the PLO series since she hasn’t been the star billing in any of their major releases. Gosh, I hope this isn’t the start of the downfall for this great series.
