Private Gold 65: Sex Angels Review

Sex Angels is Private's XXX version of the Seventies TV series Charlie's Angels and the two Hollywood remakes. Like the two mainstream movies, this one is a campier version of the original TV series. The three detectives are dark-haired Gwendoline (part-Asian Mya Diamond playing the Lucy Liu character), petite blonde Marcy (played by the luscious Sandy Style), and statuesque Tracy (amply handled by Jenifer Dark). Sylvia Lancome and Tony Ribas play the main villians.

I'm not going to describe all the sex in Xavi Dominguez's 146 minute feature since that has been done quite well in another review.

Introduction (non-sex)

The Angels are trying to defuse a bomb; Tracy (Jenifer Dark) elects to cut the blue wire. Boom! Oops. We cut to Wally's Private Investigation Agency, apparently located in beautiful San Francisco -- at least according to the location shots (or stock footage as the case may be). Wally? Haha, when I hear that name, I immediately think of the Wally World amusement park from National Lampoon's Vacation.

Scene 1: Sandy Style, two guys

While Gwendoline (Mya Diamond) and Jenifer are conversing with Wally about their next assignment, Marcy (Sandy Style) is taking on her own assignment of taking on two dicks. World destruction is what the Angels are going to protect us from. She gets her pussy pounded in a couple of positions while she sucks the other guy's dick before she switches to a reverse anal cowgirl (which also includes some enthusiastic self-administered pussy slapping). Quite a lot of anal piledriver follows, but it's one-on-one action so I don't know if the other guy took a break or if they're tag-teaming. Scene 2: Mya Diamond, two guys

At Dojo Xin-Lu in Chinatown, we get to see a little kendo (Japanese bamboo sword fighting, incorrectly referred to as ninjutsu in the Making Of video). Scene 5: Silvia, two guys

We get treated to the classic James Bond-style ski chase (filmed in the Pyrenees rather than in the Alps), but instead of 007, it's snowboarding Mya who gets away from the two-planking goons. For failing their mission, Tania orders the two hitmen to make up for their ineptitude. The apres-ski action continues as they switch a number of times with different cocks ending up in different holes, including her ass. The guys pound her in a couple of DP positions before they unload over her tits and face (including her silly eyepatch). Mya crashes the party; after knocking Silvia out, she convinces one of the goons to tell her more about the hidden bomb.

Scene 6: Sandy, Jenifer, two guys

The bomb is apparently at the hairdresser's, so that's where Sandy and Jenifer end up. When the hairdresser's looks more like a fetish club. Scene 7: Mya, Tony Ribas

Mya gets to kick a couple of guys butts' before she meets up with the evil mastermind of world destruction played by Tony Ribas. Well, the evil guy quickly decides that it's far better plugging Mya's ass, rather than the world's.

Epilogue

The girls finally free themselves; now it's time to save the world and they're left with the same choice as before. Is it the blue wire or the black one?

Production Values

Looks like this feature was mostly shot on film, 35mm in a slight widescreen format (perhaps it's the standard 1.85:1 format). The audio is in Dolby 5.1 Surround. The film to DVD transfer quality is pretty good overall, with just a few glitches notably when the lighting conditions are rather dark.

DVD Extras

The About Private submenu offers a promo piece about Private DVDs, a corporate video, and a link to the website. The actual trailers are in the Other Titles section. The Language menus allows you to pick one of five languages (English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian) and subtitles in seven other languages.

The Making Of footage is part promotional and part behind-the-scenes. One of the things I find interesting about the behind-the-scenes footage are interviews with the talent. This is sometimes less effective with Eurobabes whose English skills may be limited, but still some nuances in their personalities show through.

I'm rather surprised that a big-budget feature such as Sex Angels does not have a photo gallery. I'm not really disappointed, but it's just such an incongruity that I thought I should mention it.

Summary

Private and Xavi Dominguez have put together a fun little feature film; like the mainstream Charlie's Angels movies, it's a bit campy, but that's okay. The storyline is a bit thin which is magnified by the awkward dialogue since none of the actors are native English speakers.

Beyond the storyline, the sets, Private doesn't lose track about what's the most important thing: beautiful babes having hot sex. Private rarely disappoints there; the sex scenes are lengthy, with good variety (including anal action and some double penetrations).

Now why the hell did they delete the Bosley character? They should have called Ron Jeremy. :)
