Private Black Label 22: Intrigue & Pleasure Review

Intrigue & Pleasure is a modest feature from Private Black Label starring Michelle Wild and Britnee. Overall, it’s got exactly what you’d expect from Private, packaged exactly how you’d expect, which is possibly problematic. Intrigue & Pleasure is a decent sex flick by all accounts and Private does some things well, but it also does some things not so well and that rarely changes. I guess, more fairly, that’s the studio’s style and Private undoubtedly deserves credit for delivering so consistently. Getting what you expect in porn is a rare treat.

To begin with, the DVD extras are good – as usual for Private. Reviewers’ expectations of extras vary greatly but I’m quite happy with Private’s trailers, filming reports and production notes. Also included are extra languages, subtitles and cast bios. Private films also have very good lengths and the A/V quality is good. The women are naturally attractive and the studio makes an effort to film in a variety of locations, as well as finishing all hetero scenes with facial/s. The male performers are usually non-repulsive too.

Unfortunately, although there are good moments in every scene, Private’s sex style never seems quite as hot to me as it could or should. The sex is well-filmed but routine and the performers don’t seem to enjoy themselves greatly. There are also technical factors that interfere with the scenes’ heat. And while Private invests a lot in production values, its plots invariably feel shallow and lose something in the translation. Obviously the language barriers aren’t their fault but I rarely derive any value from Private plots.

Intrigue & Pleasure fits all those points, so if you know what to expect you won’t be disappointed. From a personal perspective, I think that while Private does many things well and should be commended for them, it ultimately fails to stand out in any special ways.

Things start out with Michelle sucking a European cigar. There’s decent oral action before the sex and Michelle, although a little plain, has beautiful large breasts. The sex, interrupted by some story sequences, moves onto spirited anal. There’s quite a lot of anal before the guy cums in her mouth and she administers PC head. A major plus is that Private knows to linger after the money shot. There’s nothing remarkable in this scene unfortunately.

If you were wondering, the plot is about the retrieval of a stolen elephant idol. Pretty uninspired.

The thieves get together with their female deckhands. I don’t know if it’s just the films I’ve seen but Private seem to shoot a lot of scenes with two couples on a boat. At any rate, Sylvia the redhead has a pretty face but an unfortunate tattoo; Mandy is not so attractive but has excellent natural breasts. Throughout the scene they unfortunately keep their costume hats on, which harmed their looks. The girls blow their partners then have sex on the deck. I didn’t enjoy the scene much though Sylvia took a vigorous DP for a fair time. The girls suck the guys and receive weak facials and tongue each other a bit. A major minus is that Private like to focus much longer than usual on the guys’ faces before they cum – even moving away from the girl to do so.

Michelle goes for quick and easy prepayment of Inspector Holmes’ fee. Like his surname-sake Steve is considerably hung and puts his tool to good use. I’m starting to warm to Michelle and her wonderful pair, though they may possibly be implanted (not that I care). The sex in this scene was ok and included very brief tit-fucking and of course anal. Unfortunately, Holmes wasn’t very hard and didn’t do the best job in the backdoor department. Michelle sucks him to an average in-mouth finish, again with good lingering.

Two hot women have a scene on a very cold balcony (the report shows how cold the girls were from the brisk wind). The girls try to heat things up and at least succeeded in raising my core temperature. Samantha is exceedingly cute and I’d happily give up a few toes to be with her; unfortunately, from a more normal perspective, she hasn’t starred in any other movies according to her bio. They start with some caressing and at least a few kisses before Petra licks Samantha’s breasts. There is some nice touching and an attempt at kissing before the oral, but I wished they filmed indoors so the girls could concentrate on each other rather than on avoiding hypothermia.

The inevitable toy action does not get off to a good start with Samantha sucking shivering Petra’s strap-on. When she tries to ride the contraption it doesn’t work well at all and effectively kills any heat. Samantha wears the strap-on to do Petra doggy style but this part wasn’t great. The toy action unsurprisingly damaged the scene for me and the scene ended all too abruptly with no kissing.

Britnee, a blonde girl with short hair and big eyes, blows an inmate while also playing with a nightstick. She has impressive (possibly implanted) tits and takes a deep anal pounding, during which the bed sounded like it was going to break. The anal is a bit rough for my liking and unfortunately, there is an extra-heavy focus on the guy’s face before the money shot. A decent in-mouth cumshot rounds things out. I couldn’t work up much enthusiasm about Britnee’s looks or the sex.

Britnee joins the Inspector with exotic-looking Mia on the boat. The girls suck each other’s tits briefly before sharing the detective’s large member.
