Indiana Mack 2: Sex in the Desert is Private and Kovi's follow-up to their rather poor prior effort Indiana Mack: Sex in the Jungle. The movie doesn't have much that it can call a plot and to be honest, what passes for a plot in this entry actually manages to make the movie worse. To add insult to injury, the dubbing is horrible so you are being told a poor story through horrible dubbing. In this entry the now supposedly seasoned adventurer Indiana Mack (Nick Lang) is now working for Thurlington (David Perry) who sends Mack to Jerusalem with his secretary Christina (Dora Venter) to find another piece of the medallion. However, other people are after this piece of the medallion as well.

Not only is the plot poor but the costuming is a mess as well. Thurlington is adorned in a horrible and poor stereotypical Scottish clothing. Kareem Ismal (Alex Mantegna) is just playing a sunglasses wearing cool guy in a boat, a character that looks like he was accidentally edited in from another movie. Laureen Kiss's geisha make up is horrible. Normally Private does a good job with the costuming but they really missed the mark with this one.

As per their usual, Private shot the movie in some very nice locations, this time around Israel and Budapest. However, Kovi has made stupid mistakes filling the movie with modern technology, which didn't exist back when the movie takes place. With the money Private spent sending the cast to the locations, it is poor that details such as cell phones being used were overlooked. The sex scenes are glossy and look nice, but each one looks like it fell right out of the Private sex scene cookie cutter. And the run time for each one is long, completely disrupting the story, or the attempt at one.

Even for fans of Private films, Indiana Mack 2: Sex in the Desert will be a let down. The movie was poor enough that despite not finding all the pieces of the medallion, Indiana Mack 3 was never to be.

Private has done their average job with their release of Indiana Mack 2: Sex in the Desert. Indiana Mack 2: Sex in the Desert is presented in the academy aspect ratio of 1.33:1 in 480i. The transfer looks good sporting good colors and a nice image that appears to be blemish free.

Indiana Mack 2: Sex in the Desert is presented with a dubbed English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo audio track, which is acceptable for the material being presented. As with most of Private's movies, the audio is a poor dub. There are also French Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo, German Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo, Spanish Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo, and Italian Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo dubbed audio tracks. There are Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, and Danish subtitles included on the release.

Private has included a few extras on the release. There is “The Report: Indiana Mac 2,” which is a short behind the scenes piece that runs for eight minutes. There are text production notes, which give only the most basic of information on the movie. The trailer is included on the release. There is a photo gallery. There are also Private filmographies for the cast.

The original Indiana Mack: Sex in the Jungle was a rather poor feature movie to come from Private. Indiana Mack 2: Sex in the Desert actually manages to be worse than the original was with a horrific story that makes no sense at all. The movie features a nice looking cast but sex scenes are formulaic. Private has done their average job with the DVD release.
