Prague Rising (Studio 2000 Int'l) Review

Why can’t I live in Czechoslovakia? My god, with hunks like Ales Hanak and Pavel Novotny, who would NOT want to live in the Czech Rebublic? I’ve been lusting after these two ever since they first appeared in Czech Point. In Prague Rising, not only do they get more screen time, they even appear in a scene together! Hot Dog!!!

There’s a plot here, but to be honest, I couldn’t quite make out what it is. Four guys are spending the night in some old mansion, which may or may not be in Prague. They spend about 10 minutes talking about why they're there, but the music was too loud and I couldn’t really make it out. It goes something like this: the previous owner of the house was some big pervert who captured all the men in some Czech town and imprisoned them in his dungeon. They were eventually freed, but two Czechs were never found.

I think the guys are staying at the mansion to try to do some paranormal studies on it or something. Twinkie boys Kristen Brooks and Bobby Parks retire to their room decide to try their luck with a ouija board. Apparently, this awakens the ghosts of the two lost Czechs, Alex and Pavel, who watch Kristen and Bobby make out. Kristen is a definite cutie, but Bobby is a little too average for my tastes (all those moles don’t help, either). They do the standard suck/fuck routine, with Kristen on top. After their dalliances with the Americans, they head back down to their dungeon, where they reminisce about the old times. I don’t want to spoil it too much for you, but there is a lot of passionate kissing and both hunks take their turn getting fucked. I don’t think you could ask for two better-looking guys in one scene!

There are the standard Studio 2000 extras included: bloopers, cast bios, two previews and a gallery. Normally, photo galleries don’t interest me, but the bonus shots of Ales and Pavel have made a believer out of me!

Hunky men aside, Prague Rising is a bit of a disappointment. The final scene (the one I’ve been looking forward to for about 6 months) is great, but still isn’t as scorching as I would have hoped.

Almost all the guys are hot, the video quality is great, the mansion has some beautiful rooms that make for good-looking sets… but there’s something wrong here that is hard to pinpoint. I think it may have something to do with most of the sex being shot in the slow, romantic style instead of the fever-pitched-sweat-soaked-fuck-em-till-they- scream style. Romance is great when you’re in the mood for it, but there are some spots here where it comes off a little too restrained, robotic even. Believe me, if I had one of these beefy Czechs in my bed, romance would be the last thing on my mind! Give me balls-to-the-walls- fuck-em-for-everything-they’re-worth action any day!
