Initial Expectations: POV porn can be very hit or miss for me, but with this one being nominated for Best POV Release of 2009 by the XRCO I can't help but have some decent expectations.

Initial Reaction: The movie is great, but it doesn't deliver either as a POV movie or with the anal sex aspect the cover and title suggest.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice any background noises. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks great. There's nice care put into the lighting, the camera work is smooth, and there's very little grain.

Music: There's some sexy music with a good beat for each opening tease that disappears once the main event begins for each scene.

Watermark Warning: A small watermark is in the lower right corner throughout the movie and extras. I mention it here because I know some people have an extreme aversion to watermarks, but I will also say that it's extremely easy to filter out mentally due to how small it is and it's fixed location.

Menus: The main menu is pretty good, and gives a few clips from the movie along with a nice still in a fairly unique way that gives a nice first impression. The chapter menu nicely lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the performers in each scene. There's also a “Pick Your Pleasure” option that lets you go directly to specific sex acts such as tease, cowgirl, or popshots.

The Feature

Pound the Round 3 keeps things fairly simple. It start out with a nice long tease with an emphasis on big butts before moving into a mix of gonzo, all sex, and POV action.

Pound the Round 3 is a great release that at the same time fails. Sexually, this is a great movie. There's a fantastic emphasis on tease, and it's done extremely well to start each scene. It also has great chemistry in each and every scene with the action being captured very well with a nice mix of angles. Therein lies the rub. As a POV release, Pound the Round 3 just plain falls short way too often and does so in every single scene. POV porn is supposed to let the viewer put themselves in the guy's place. Yes, there are some great POV shots in the each scene, but shots where you see the guy's knees or the bottom of his nutsack in cowgirl or during the blowjobs and shots where you repeatedly see his face without the aid of a mirror on some surface of the room just aren't POV shots and they're also in every single scene. There were many times where the style Mike Adriano used reminded me of what John “Buttman” Stagliano or Jules Jordan have done for years, just with a little more of a POV focus, but there's no denying the gonzo and all sex footage that also flows throughout the entire movie. The other problem I have with Pound the Round 3 is that there just isn't much anal sex in the movie. Aliz definitely delivers the anal in the final scene, but she and Aletta Ocean are the only girls to give up the ass in a movie who's title strongly suggests anal sex, especially with how many shots of big round asses are around the cover. With a different name (Pound the Round 3 and Pound the Round P.O.V. 3 both seem to be used for the movie), this could have been one killer release. As it is, Pound the Round 3 comes out as a smoking hot movie that at the same time doesn't deliver anywhere close to what it seems like it should and ends up falling short of where it could because of it.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for My Fantasy Girls P.O.V. 3, Schoolgirl POV 4, and My Fantasy Girls P.O.V. 2. The photo gallery lasts about two and three quarter minutes with about six seconds per very nice looking snapshot. There's also internet information, company info, and a bonus scene.

The bonus scene comes from My Fantasy Girls POV 3. If you're not set on a lot of anal or POV action, this one should easily be worth the money, but those who want a lot of anal or true POV footage might want to rent this one first. The sex is definitely hot in every scene, but it just doesn't deliver what the cover and title suggest it should. The technical aspects are nicely done and there is a touch of effort put into the extras due to a nice bonus scene. This is a very hot movie that really should have had a different title.

Note to Digital Sin: This really is a great movie, but if you're going to put out a POV movie please put out a POV movie rather than just mixing in a bit of POV footage while the rest of the movie comes off as a gonzo or all sex style.
