The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Anarchy has a long running record as being what’s referred to in technical terms as “A lying sack of shit”. That record leaves me with low expectations despite some of their interactive releases having some decent sex and Cailey often doing a nice job.

Initial Reaction: It’s yet another below average interactive Anarchy DVD.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are fairly average. The audio is on the low side of things so you have to turn it up fairly high to hear Cailey well. By the time I had it up that high I had a fair amount of speaker hiss and could hear what sounded like traffic and other background noises almost as well as I could hear Cailey. There’s also a few moments where it looks like the audio might be dubbed. The video is a little better, but not a lot. It’s fairly clear, but there is a little grain. The lighting is also a bit inconsistent, and there’s a fair amount of flickering throughout some of the action.

Music: There’s music for the striptease portion, but that’s it. During the striptease it’s the only audio and seems very generic.

Bullshit, Boneheaded, and Borderline Advertising: False advertising on a virtual sex Anarchy DVD seem to go together like fleas on a camel’s ass. You just don’t seem to find one without the other. Once again, this means that Anarchy is getting penalized a half point on their overall score. The front cover has claims of Multi-Angle, Extremely Interactive, Strip Tease, Foot Job, Titty Job, Multiple Toys, Tease Menu, Shot Exclusively for DVD, Point of View (P.O.V.), and Different Sex Positions. As usual, not all of these are bullshit, boneheaded, or borderline. There is a strip tease, a foot job, and a titty job, but that’s it from the list.

For a bullshit claim we have the standard Anarchy lie of Multi-Angle on the front cover, which on the back cover is touted as true multiple angles. With true multiple angles, you can use the multiple angle feature on the DVD player to switch between angles whenever you want. Here, you can watch the footage from one camera angle, and when it gets done the movie advances with footage from the other camera angle. If you don’t like the one angle, you can just skip ahead with the menu. This is not true multiple angles like the cover advertises. The back cover also states you can last a few minutes or seventy-three minutes, which implies a running time of almost twenty percent longer than what the feature is here. These problems are far from being mere oversights with the frequency they happen on Anarchy’s virtual DVDs.

Starting off the borderline side of things is the Extremely Interactive option, since there’s fewer interactive choices here than most anywhere else. You don’t get to choose between moods for Cailey, camera angles, or anything else special to tailor the scene to your tastes. The Different Toys claim goes along with this by implying that you get to choose which toy Cailey uses (such as Smash did in My Playtoy 3). Yes, she does have two different toys, but you never get any choice in which one she uses or when she uses it. She uses one toy for the masturbation segment along with a little natural play and another toy for the Play with Toys section. The Point of View (POV) claim also seems pretty borderline. There’s a fair amount of POV footage, but when you get to anything that isn’t Cailey by herself the POV portion of the footage seems to be in the minority.

Then there’s the boneheaded claims, namely Tease Menu, Different Sex Positions, and Shot Exclusively for DVD. The tease menu seems boneheaded to me at best and like false advertising at its worst. When I hear of a tease portion of a virtual sex DVD, I expect to be able to choose what part of her body the girl is using to tease me. There’s absolutely nothing like that here, which makes it seem like false advertising. The closest it gets is letting you choose between masturbation, striptease, and playing with toys, which are just normal selections and seems boneheaded. I have yet to see anybody release an interactive title with only one position, and the positions used here are no different than anywhere else. I also don’t know of anybody who’s released an interactive VHS tape or how it would work. Do they come with a sheet that tells you where to fast forward to on the tape to see what you want to?

Menus: The menus are fairly basic. The main menu has the still from the cover and that’s about it.

The Feature

Cailey Taylor is a real California blonde. Scratch that. I think it takes bleach to be a real California blonde, so let’s say that Cailey’s a real blonde from California who has some okay implants and a great smile. She’s also willing to get a little nasty which makes her a great choice for a virtual sex feature.

For her part of the DVD, Cailey does a nice job. She overdoes many of her reactions, but she does look to get into the action fairly well. Cailey looks like she might have a harder time of it than some other girls in virtual releases because she continually changes outfits through the action. I think I counted five different outfits between the strip tease, masturbation, playing with toys, blowjob, and sex, and Cailey looks great in every one of them. Cailey plays to the camera fairly well to the action, but has a tendency to stare at it and play to the camera no matter what angle it’s trying to shoot her from. This hurts the chemistry in quite a bit of the movie, and left the sex around the average mark for me.

Anarchy definitely did one thing okay, and that’s the pop shot. Rather than going with faked wet or animated pop shots, they kept the pop shot here real. They only have one of them, but they start with the guy standing up and Cailey ready to receive it so that it doesn’t have an odd feeling if “you” are fucking Cailey missionary style and hit the pop button only to see that the pop scene starts in cowgirl, or something like that. Cailey also does a fantastic job with the pop. She plays with it a bit and swallows some down. Cailey and Anarchy’s handling of the pop shot is probably the two best things about this release.

Anarchy’s virtual interface leaves plenty to be desired. The menus rest in the upper left corner, and change from selection to selection so that the current selection always rests on the top of the list. There’s two main menus for the release, with one being for the sex and one being for everything else, and they’re often a little difficult to read due to the font which was used. They also cover up some of the action at times, such as in the anal reverse cowgirl where Cailey’s face is normally in the upper left corner of the screen. The menus also lack for not being too descriptive. For the foreplay section there’s one selection for masturbation and another for playing with toys, yet Cailey uses toys in both and the masturbation mixes in a bit of natural play. The sex descriptions are just as bad, giving choices such as Pussy Pleasure, which ends up being missionary, Doggie Style, and Anal. The anal selection has two “alternate angles”, with the first angle being missionary, the second being cowgirl, and the third being reverse cowgirl. I can’t help but wonder with Anarchy’s True Multiple Angles how Cailey could be in three different positions at once! I know Cailey’s got talent, but to have that much flexibility? Wow. Menu descriptions like this continue Anarchy’s streak of ineptitude and virtual DVDs.

Of course, there’s also the entire “virtual sex” / interactive aspect of the DVD. To me, this barely qualifies as an interactive virtual sex DVD. When I think of an interactive virtual sex DVD I expect to control the action. When I tell the girl to change positions or do a different sex act, she does the different sex act. That’s how it is with well done virtual sex DVDs such as the My Plaything line from Digital Sin, the FantaSex line from VCA, and the Virtual Sex with... line from Digital Playground. They use loops that restart so you can watch the chosen girl do whatever sex act you want as long as you want without hitting a button. Here you basically have a sex scene with all the positions changes cut out and a chapter menu put into the movie so you can automatically skip around in the scene if you don’t like the way the scene is progressing. If you want to see Cailey’s sweet ass get continually reamed cowgirl style, you better keep your hand on the remote because you’re going to have to keep hitting it every minute or so.

Anarchy continues its string of below average interactive DVDs with Playing with Cailey Taylor. Cailey does a pretty average job sexually, and does her best at handling the pop shot and just looking hot in the different outfits. The main problem is the interactive virtual sex aspect, which to me basically isn’t. It’s a primitive attempt at virtual sex which was outdated a few years ago and only looks worse now. Playing with Cailey Taylor is yet another Anarchy virtual dud.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery contains about twenty full screen photos. They look like they were supposed to be snapshots, but for some reason they’re stretched out to full screen which often makes Cailey look like a blonde Rosie O’Fatass. Thank God we don’t have to hear that whiny east coast accent to go with it! Trailers are included for Shooters, Narcassist, Blasted, Anal Life, and Johnny’s Vision. There’s also weblinks and an interview with Cailey.

The interview with Cailey ends up being a full behind the scenes featurette lasting about seventeen minutes. It starts with Jimmie and another guy talking about a Taco Bell experience they had the night before. It moves on with Cailey getting ready for her scene and everybody hanging around the set and playing with the dogs that are there. Unless you’re a big fan of Cailey, and even then I have my doubts, this is a fairly boring behind the scenes featurette. I was often distracted and had a hard time watching it. This wasn’t that good of a behind the scenes featurette.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Anarcy’s interactive DVDs can be found online for between about $10 and $25 with stores offering them everywhere in between. At the low end this one might be worth it if you’re an extreme Cailey Taylor fan. She does an okay job, but the virtual / interactive aspect of the DVD sucks. The technical aspects are average, but there’s a bit of effort put into the extras.

Note to Anarchy: As a new marketing concept, you might want to try being honest with the people who consider buying or renting your product.
