Initial Expectations: Although I’ve never seen Wendy Divine in anything before I’ve had great luck with VCA’s DVDs. I’ve got fairly high hopes for that reason alone.

Initial Reaction: The story is fun and the sex is good and it appears that everyone is having fun. It makes the entire movie fun to watch.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very good. There’s a few background noises but they don’t interfere too much with the movie. They’re soft enough that you wouldn’t even notice them if there was any music. The video is also very good. There’s a few soft focus problems but they’re only for a split second a couple times in the movie.

Music: None.

Review: Normally it’s a really bad sign when the cover and the movie can’t agree on things. In this case, it’s the main character’s name. On the cover she’s listed as Wendy Divine. In the movie she’s listed as Maya Divine. I’ve never heard of Wendy Divine but I have heard of Maya Divine. I haven’t heard anything about her, I just recognize the name. I’m assuming that she decided to change her name in between the movie being filmed and it’s release. I’m guessing this is why and so I’m kind of expecting to see more of her features released with her listed as Wendy in the future. For this reason, I’ll be referring to her as Wendy in this review. Luckily, The Pink Package is the exception to the discrepance rule.

I readily admit that I like to have plot with my porno. It’s like pepper on chicken fried steak. You don’t have to have it, but it just isn’t the same without it. Every once in a while, though, a great one sneaks up on you. The Pink Package is one of those great ones. There isn’t much for a plot, but the little there is works great.

The Pink Package is about, well, a pink package. The Kid (Michael J. Cox) and Dean (Steve Hatcher) are on the crew for porno movies and they slip it into every scene they work on. The Kid thinks it’s like his artistic signature. Most of the movie is shot as a series of flashbacks as Dean tells his girlfriend Mae (Wendy Divine) about their fun with the package. It’s a lot of fun trying to spot where they put the package or how they slip it into every scene.

Everybody in the movie seems to be having a lot of fun, whether they’re having sex (which I always think of as fun) or not. It’s helped by great chemistry between the cast, especially Wendy, Michael, and Steve. There’s also a lot of extra, non - sex characters. Most of these are directors, but there’s a few other cast members who also appear. Very few of these characters are repeated, so there’s a lot of cameos. Sadly, there isn’t a commentary or credits so we know who these people are. VCA often has some of their other directors and other notable people play these extra parts and it’s always nice to be able to put a face to their name. If they’re just typical extras, they could always make up a name if they don’t want to be known. These extra people also add a lot to the movie and make it more fun. Most of the directors know about the package and do long searches of the sets or interrogations about the package to try and keep it off the set. It makes trying to find the package or figure out how it’s going to come into the scene a little more fun.

This is the first movie I’ve seen with Wendy and I’ve got to say that I’m impressed. She appears to have fun throughout the entire movie whether she’s sucking, fucking, or just kicking back on the couch with Steve. The only complain I have about her is that she has the typical bad boob job. The only thing not horrible about them is that there isn’t any noticeable scarring. Other than that, they barely jiggle at all. It’s sad as the rest of her is great! She’s the true star of the show and has three great scenes covering boy girl couples sex, lesbian, and group sex. She shines in every scene! In her scene with Steve Hatcher, she doesn’t do the plain up and down when she’s riding him. She’s moving all over the place. It’s great to see somebody making the scene the best it can be rather than just banging away and grabbing the check on the way out the door. Her scene with Justine Romee is every bit as good. Both ladies do a great job of teasing each other and building the heat throughout the scene. By the time any licking started my zipper was about to burst! Finally, she takes on both Steve and Michael in the last scene. She appears very tactful and sexy. Almost every other girl would be seeing how nasty they could make the scene. In today’s porn world, it seems like every time you have a situation like this you have to have a double penetration. At the very least it normally means anal. Wendy doesn’t do either and due to how much screen time she has I don’t think that she does anal at all. I really enjoy watching anal sex, as it’s still one of those ‘bad, forbidden things’ for me. Despite this, I don’t care for how much it seems expected of every girl in the porn industry today. If this is typical for Wendy and she doesn’t do anal, good for her. I hope that she sticks to her guns and doesn’t give in to the pressure simply because of pressure. I know that if she keeps up like this I’ll keep watching her, anal or not.

The rest of the cast is also impressive. It starts off with Ryan Conner with Chris Cannon in the first scene. Ryan is really cute, although she did have to massacre her chest as well as have a huge tattoo on her hip. She really reminded me of Sarah Jessica Parker as soon as I saw her. She gives a good scene that sets up the movie nicely. Afterwards, Steve tells her that it’s Michael’s birthday and that he loves tit- milk and convinces her to spray him down when she sees him. I know that it’s repeated a few times, but this girl could rent herself out to a few fire departments! Normally this turns me off, but with both Michael and Ryan laughing as she did it, it was hard not to like it.

The rest of the starlets are also fairly new to me. Janet Jacme takes on Pat Myne in a very average scene. Neither or these people did anything for me. The only really good thing about the scene is that Janet has real tits. Shelbee Myne takes on Ian Daniels. It’s another okay scene, but I don’t find Shelbee that attractive. Her hair is completely done in small braids and I found it very unattractive, although it is nice to see something a little different. Finally, Tara takes on Tyce Bune. Tara is new to me and does a pretty good job. She seems pretty average so far, but I think she has potential and I’m interested to see her in another scene.

The Pink Package does have a few problems. The camera work is a little poor in a few parts. It takes a very good cameraman to get a good close-up of a person’s head when it’s moving around a lot. In this case, it’s energetic women on top. It’s not a big problem, but it is noticeable. The worst problem is the description of the movie on the cover. It talks about The Pink Package taking place during the raging ‘70s. There’s next to nothing in the movie about the 70s. The next to is Janet commenting on how she was late to a shoot because her bus broke down. On the other side of things, everything in the movie is done in today’s styles. There isn’t a single thing done in gold or avocado green! You can’t have 70s without gold or avocado green! Well, I suppose you might be able to with a bunch of bellbottoms (which there aren’t), some pot or acid (which there isn’t), or disco music (which there isn’t). Even worse, when Wendy goes to see Justine, Justine is reading what appears to be a 1985 yearbook. Once again, this isn’t a big error but it really sticks out to me. The biggest error is on the cover and that shows lack of caring. I think VCA is one of the 5 best studios out there (and no I won’t say where they are in the top 5) and I hate to see this kind of shoddy mistakes from them.

The Pink Package is a lot of fun. I really wanted to give it a higher rating than I did but I couldn’t justify it. There are some problems and I don’t think it has all of the criteria I think a four or five star movie should have. If you’re looking for a fun adult movie, give The Pink Package a try. It’s a nice bunch of fluff with some really great sex that people obviously enjoy having.

Extras: The Pink Package has your standard extras. There’s bios with a link to the performer’s scene for Wendy / Maya Divine, Shelbee Myne, Ryan Conner, and Tara. The photo gallery lasts slightly under two and a half minutes with about six seconds per photo. All of the photos are very clear. Trailers are also included for Booby Trap, Misspelled, and The Sopornos . Finally, VCA does a great thing by listing the dominant female performer in each scene on the chapter menu. This is a great thing! I really wish that all of the performers were listed for each scene, but it’s a start. Also, VCA has listened to the consumers and uses a lot of chapters. There’s over fifty chapters in the 99 minute The Pink Package . This seems like a little much, but it’s a lot better than the one chapter per scene. Thank you VCA.

Overall: Currently The Pink Package can be found online for between $23 and $25. If there were a few more extras I wouldn’t think twice about paying that much for this movie. The movie’s a lot of fun, the sex is very good, and the transfer’s great. If there’s somebody you know you like here, I’d bite the bullet and shell out the cash. If you’re unsure, rent it. It won’t be wasted money.

Note to VCA: This was a really fun movie. Thank you. I would have liked a few more extras here as I enjoyed it enough that I wanted to give it a higher rating. Unfortunately when I looked at it as objectively as I could, I couldn’t justify it.
