According to a press release, Pin-Up Girls 3 broke Girlfriends Films sales records. I think that's fantastic news: I have no personal or financial stake in the company, but Pin-Up Girls goes in a very different direction than most porn movies are heading. If Pin-Up Girls sells, there will be more of it. For those of us who are sick-and-tired of low-quality, low-effort, bitches & 'ho's porn, Pin-Up Girls is a welcome relief.

Pin-Up Girls is the latest (as I write this) series from Girlfriends Films. Unlike the Women Seeking Women or Lesbian Seductions lines, this one has a continuing cast and characters, and a thread of story which spools across each scene of the movie, and across each volume of the series. It's set up so that you can watch it like a soap opera, but each scene stands alone and you can zero in on "the good stuff" if you prefer. It's a great marriage between story and stroke scenes.

After Volume 1 I haven't been following the plot, but basically it's the story of lingerie models who decide to make some extra money on the side by selling their own "private" photos, and of course some of the shoots get out of control. Or things continue off-camera.

As usual, there are four scenes, each around a 1/2 hour in length. Scene one has Ashlyn Rae and Sara Stone. Ashlyn is a beautiful, small-breasted brunette; Sara is very busty honey-colored lady (last seen in Vol 3 paired with Rayveness).

Scene 2 is Angel Dark and Rayveness. Angel Dark is new to the series, a 20-something, medium breasted brunette matched with the more MILFish Rayveness.

Scene 3 is a threesome, which you don't see often in GF titles: Ashlyn Rae again (the only two-time performer here), Avy Scott and Georgia Jones; one blonde and two brunettes (all small breasted). This one of the best threesomes I've seen; typically it's two people together and the third one just stands around, but there's better integration here, especially considering there are no toys to play with.

and finally we end up with two medium breasted blondes, Dia Zerva and Prinzzess.

One of the best things about this series is the variation and mix-and- match for the scenes. So far all of the performers are white, but there's a nice mix of blondes, brunettes, cheerleader types, Milfs, and so on. Plus the overall physical attractiveness of the performers is high.

Production values: Production values: It's up to the usual high GF standard. The video is clean and bright, and the sound is excellent. There's no annoying music track, and the music they used for transitions is pleasant. There are only four scenes off of the main menu, but there are a lot of chapters (about one every 3 minutes) so you can easily skip to your favorite parts. GF titles always seem to be made by people who care about quality of their product, and this is an excellent example.

Final verdict: Porn series are usually like any other movie or tv series: the first few are good and then they go to hell real fast. Yet Pin-Up Girls is gathering speed. The performers are beautiful, the production quality is glossy and pleasant to watch; the DVD is nicely set up. In fact, if you're one of those people who's beating off to Betty Draper when she wears that old-fashioned lingerie on Mad Men: it's not old fashioned, it's hot. Girlfriends Films captures that here. If you're put off by the hip -hop, tatted-and-pierced-and-looking-for-your-next-hit-of-meth look, or even the tired "just fuck me and get it over with" scenes that are most porn flicks these days, then Pin-Up Girls is a breath of fresh air; at over two hours—it's actually a refreshing breeze.
