Peter North's Greatest Cumshots Review

It's no secret, I am a Peter North fan. I've been a fan ever since I saw him in the very first porno I saw on VHS back in the 80s, and I have attempted to follow pretty much the bulk of his career, until his retirement. It is quite sad that so many adult titles from the 80s and 90s have never been digitalized and released on DVD< rendering so many "classic" era northern popshots and performances obsolete, limited to VHS, VHS rips, and memories.

Whenever a company decides to re-release older material on DVD featuring Peter "Beercan", I all ears, or in these cases, all eyes. Thankfully companies like Caballero do tend to master and re-release most of their back catalogue on DVD, but alas, many of these are poorly manufactured, becoming unstable and eventually unreadable after a few uses.

I do not claim to know how seriously Leisure Time Digital takes their digitalizations of older material, as in Canada, we never did get Leisure Time products after the VHS format died out. But if this release serves as a "typical" example of their products, then they must be avoided at all costs.

Peter North's Greatest Cumshots (volume 1) "The King Of CUm", released on DVD in 2003, features a random assortment of scenes culled from different eras and releases featuring our main main, and a bevy of bountiful beauties... Or so it claims. You see folks, the DVD is extremelly poorly manufactured. In short, I was able to view about half of the scenes on the disc, and was unable to go back to re-watch them unless I cleaned the disc, put it in the DVD player, shutting it off for a few minutes, and then allowing it to load upon "powering up". Oh, it gets worse...

1) The DVD features commercial ads for phone sex lines (probably all disconnected by now, judging by the visuals used for these commercials) about one for every two scenes. So you get two scenes, a 2-3 minute ad (sometimes two), then another scene, then another ad, then two scenes, an ad, etc. Not the best viewing experience to say the least. You'd think actually paying for a DVD would be enough to justify a commercial-free experience during the feature, but this isn;t the case.

2) The CHAPTERS menu is filled with bugs... You can actually only see the thumbnails for the first three scenes, while the remainder appear to be suffering from some form of digital pixilation. To add more insult, if you dwell on this chapters menu for more than about 5 seconds, it freezes up completely. You are then only able to press the menu button on you remote to be returned to the main menu, at which point no options are availabe. The "Play Feature", "Chapters", "More Sex", and all other options are now frozen, and all you can do is basically eject the DVD.

3) About half of the scenes are corrupted... Meaning that the disc is badly encoded or manufactured, or any other form of poor design. Scene 1 is just pixelation which makes your player freeze up, and then you get about 5 or 6 scenes (most of which are easily available in better quality off the individual DVD titles still available) before one scene freezes up / pixels-out, for about 2-3 scenes. Then you get a few random scenes before the disc again freezes up and the pixelation party begins again. On the plus side, this means that this horribly manufactured DVD's ads/commercials are also frozen/pixeled-out, but when about half of the scenes are just inaccesible, it makes for a poor product indeed.

4) Out of the watcheable scenes from this disc, the quality differs as these were obviously culled from different sources: some scenes from well mastered films, while others do look like the two-generation VHS rip. One can not always be a stickler for such details as compiling various scenes from various eras will mean a change in image and sound quality, but nonetheless, any self-respecting company would have at least attempted to master the entirety of the included scenes to have some sense of standardization.

Now out of those scenes, and parts of scenes I was able to watch, here are some of the female talent paired up with Peter, which I was able to view. The boxcover lists many more, but again, none of these can be confirmed since the DVD was so poorly produced.

In conclusion, I strongly urge you to no buy this DVD. It is quite literally a waste of money. If the DVD was properly manufactured and all scenes were available/watcheable, and there wasn't so much technological bull crap and shoddy production, this could be a semi-decent compilation for fans of the man. However, it is quite obvious that this is a poorly put-together disc from a company who doesn't do any quality control whatsoever, and releases DVDs like a cheap fast food joint dishes out fries. It doesn't care if half of it is inedible, just so long as you paid the price.
