Party of
Sex has a simple theme. Orgies. Group Sex. A notoriously difficult animal
to tame for the cameras, but one that in this case holds the promise of
plenty of those irresistible Czech girls (with apologies to non-Czechs)
and an abundance of high-energy sex.
The movie features three scenes that vary little in approach or content,
only in setting and number of participants is there variety. One scene
with three girls and four guys is bookended by two with four performers
of each gender. The girls are uniformly attractive, the guys clean-cut,
able to bang it like steam hammers and seemingly devoid of any personality.
The general approach is pretty formulaic - no attempt is made at a set-up,
each scene swings into action more or less straight away with the girls
wriggling in guys' laps, groping, licking and writhing before launching
into the sucking and fucking for some time, before the anal phase of the
operation commences. Most of the sex is vaginal and energetic in the extreme.
Only a couple of girls per scene do anal, fewer still perform DPs, and
there's no malice or nastiness of the spitting/slapping/gagging variety.
Carol, Patricia, Patricia Khan, Laura Lion
Girls wiggle in laps, dresses are raised, blowjobs are supplied and fucking
commenced, featuring an absolute ton of very energetic but quite characterless
screwing done mainly in couples with a minimum of partner swapping…so,
with little more to say about the sex, let's talk girls. Lovely, lush
brunette Laura Lion (AKA Lenka) and her similarly attractive paler co-star
Patricia consent to anal sex and double penetration, but it's a forlorn
hope that the pale, blonde, inviting softness of Carol (AKA Edita) will
submit to anal. The other Patricia is a skinnier, wrigglier dark-haired
lass, sexy nonetheless.
There is good stuff to see here, like admiring the girls' lovely boobs
shaking during some quite sturdy sex, and the camera moves cover a decent
range of angles as different combinations are tried, but I can't help
feeling there's a real lack of spontaneity. The performers give it a damn
good shot, physical commitment isn't in doubt, but it never seems they're
let off the leash. It really strikes me that when someone says, "fuck"
that it's about the only word spoken so far. Not enough interaction, no
real sense of this orgy being for any other reason than a movie performance.
It's just a bunch of good looking, healthy young people screwing themselves
silly, which may be enough, I don't know.
Janet, Sandra, Camellia
A gym provides the setting for this scene, featuring Camellia, a plain
but pretty brunette with soft, smooth curves, Sandra, a not so pretty
blonde with lovely big natural boobs, and the charming Janet (AKA Frederica),
an incredibly trim, toned slender girl with seemingly boundless energy
for strong sex. Once more the sex - with Boby, George, Timoti Hayd and
Lauro Giotto making the male cast - commences almost immediately, but
there's a distinct lack of personality despite another impressive display
of sexual athleticism. Only in all too brief moments between Janet and
Lauro (I guess) do we see any kind of sparkle, or even basic hints of
enjoyment rather than a professional job, competently done.
There is a little more variety in this scene and the imbalance in terms
of numbers perhaps makes for a few more interesting combinations. Again,
there are good things to see, like the incredibly vigorous side-by-side
reverse cowgirls that show Sandra and Janet off so well, and later Sandra's
boobs swinging as her lubed ass is taken from behind. She also enjoys
double penetration. George dishes out some hard anal to Janet, who evidently
relishes this - her riding Lauro (?) is a highlight. Shots of semen onto
Sandra's pussy, Janet's tummy, tongue and tits and Camellia's face conclude
the action. It's hard to underline strongly enough what an athletic feat
this is, keeping up such strong fucking for so long (remembering the cast
have to keep at it when the camera isn't on them), but it's all so short
of the kind of qualities that really involve the viewer and make them
warm to the people.
Angelica, Nicol, Daytona, Stacy Silver
The final group grope is set in a brightly lit room with terrible chairs
that make it look like some tacky daytime TV show. Here, the lap wriggling
is done by Nicol (brunette, pouty, pretty, nice boobs), Daytona (blonde,
slim, tiny tits, pretty), Angelica (blonde, curvy, great boobs, sexy attitude),
and Stacy Silver (blonde, attractive, sadly sporting one of the most unnecessary,
rock-hard boob jobs in porn). Initial oral action launches us into a long-running
round of sex, most of it impressively hard and fast. This all looks very
good, these people are good at what they do, but only the red-faced, very
vocal Angelica seems to show any personal enthusiasm for what she's doing.
Even Stacy, who can do a good turn when it suits her, contributes a generic
professional performance.
I know the criticism sounds like a stuck record - not enough character,
too little personality etc - but that's just the way it feels to me. At
least in this scene there's more swapping around, more varied combinations
and positions to break down the regimented approach and so it's probably
the best scene of the movie. Angelica does lots of anal and double penetration,
Stacy eventually takes it up the ass too, but it would be wrong to paint
these acts as the focus of the scene. Again, it's all about a lot of very
strong, very physical sex, which ostensibly should appeal to me, but somehow
it just lacks that extra dimension that really hits the spot.
Overall
If I can make a polite suggestion, the director of Party of Sex (whether
it be "Maurice Philippe" or Alex Ladd or Bryan Xin - the three share the
videography credit) possibly needs to ponder what an orgy is all about.
To me, it means about losing your inhibitions, losing your cool, saying
nuts to hygiene and doing whatever you want, especially in porn which
is about nothing if it's not about making wild fantasy into reality.
I guess this is maybe part of the problem - this is not my fantasy.
I see it one way, the director sees it another. The priorities of director
in staging and shooting an orgy and the viewer in watching it seem to
be difficult to reconcile. In a nutshell, can you really organise
an orgy without taking away the things that are really exciting about
group sex? This movie seems to put the pieces in place (attractive, uninhibited
girls; athletic, capable guys; explicit, energetic sex - all proficiently
lit, shot and put together) without quite knowing why. If it's possible
to make a prim, polite orgy, then this is it!
With performers like these, who show the required physical commitment,
it's disappointing to find that much of Party of Sex lacks the down and
dirty, the sweaty and earthy, the lust and the desire. Only in very small
spurts, no pun intended, does it give any real impression of people doing
anything other than a professional job. It's all perspiration with no
inspiration, and it's very similar in that regard to Alex Ladd's Sodomania
Orgies. I like these girls, but I want to see more of their character,
I want to see something more organic, less staged, with more reason for
these people to be getting it on. Better, or even any, set-ups and more
effort on providing interesting locations for each scene might help. This
isn't a bad movie as such - as I say, many of the right components are
there - but it does have the feel of paint-by-numbers, not an original
masterpiece.
DVD Comments
Absolutely no quibbles about picture quality - Party of Sex is bright,
sharp and clear with good colour. The sound is fine, but then there's
little to hear other than lots and lots of moaning and groaning. The presentation
of the menus is really attractive, which always seems to be the case on
DVSX discs. They aren't deficient in this regard, that's for sure - they
always give the impression of a quality product. The extras include a
solo masturbation scenes from the girls, trailers and photos.
