Orgasmo Nero: Sex Und Schwarze Magie is one of the Caribbean filmed hardcore films from Joe D'Amato. In this one, author Paul (Richard Harrison) is on a tropical island when his wife Helen (Nieves Navarro) comes and visits. Paul and Helen are suffering from a lack of passion and Helen starts turning to islander Haini (Lucia Ramirez) for love. When Helen goes back home, she brings Haini with her. Haini becomes jealous of Helen when she starts seeing others.

Orgasmo Nero is filled with issues. The first one is that the film doesn't contain much plot at all. While often this is the case with adult films, Orgasmo Nero falls too short on the plot end causing the film to meander. Which brings us to the sex, despite being a hardcore film, most of the sexual action within Orgasmo Nero is softcore not hardcore. Viewers looking for a lot of hardcore action will be incredibly disappointed by this one.

Orgasmo Nero ends up being far more of a drama than the subtitle would make you think. The expected horror and black magic elements are almost non-existent. Not all is bad though with the film. The film features some beautiful locations and the film is beautifully shot. Unfortunately, those two elements aren't enough to save the film making Orgasmo Nero an easy pass.

X-Rated Kult DVD has done a good job with their release of Orgasmo Nero: Sex Und Schwarze Magie. Orgasmo Nero is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 480p. The transfers looks good and contains heavy grain, print damage, and artifacts. The colors in the film look good.

Orgasmo Nero is presented with an Italian Dolby Digital 2.0 monaural audio track, which sounds good. Dialog is clear and easy to understand throughout the presentation. A German Dolby Digital 2.0 monaural dubbed audio track is also included on the release along with removable English subtitles.

X-Rated Kult DVD has loaded this release with extras. There is a brief removed bonus scene from the film included on the release. There is a different version of one of the love scenes with Richard Harrison. The movie trailer is included, in German only. The Italian call script is on the release. There is a reel of unused raw scenes that are silent included on the release. There is a similar reel of unused raw scenes that are silent from Porno Holocaust. There is the original German opening for Orgasmo Nero, from a video source not film. The original German end credits are on the release as well, also from a video source. There is also a photo gallery included on the disc.

Orgasmo Nero isn't a great film; the film meanders a lot, there is no real black magic — despite the promise in the title — nor is there much of a horror element at all. The film is mostly a drama and despite being a hardcore film, the film is mostly softcore. Orgasmo Nero is an easy film to pass on. X-Rated Kult DVD has done an excellent job with this release with a good transfer and a wealth of extras.
