Running Time: 83 min.

Production Date: 3 / 16 / 1999

Director: Roy Karch

Cast: Asia Carrera, Steve Hatcher, Taylor Moore, Blair Segal, Deja Blew, Blondie Anderson, Chris Cannon, Herschel Savage, and Guy DiSilva

Initial Expectations: Roy Karch has rarely impressed me, and I highly doubt this is a “no holes barred” movie as the cover claims. I’m not going in with too high of hopes here.

Initial Reaction: It has some hot couples sex, but you can find a better plot and more enticing journey reading a Big Mac wrapper.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting ‘couples’ style sex with great chemistry and nothing nasty but don’t mind a couples-unfriendly plot

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting a “no holes” barred journey of lust

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is pretty clear and well balanced, but there are some noticeable background noises such as airplanes and the crew laughing. The video is surprisingly clear and well lit, and offers very few blemishes or other problems.

Music: The music is extremely cheesy, but rests nicely in the background.

False Advertising: The cover clearly states that this is A “no holes” barred journey of lust!, which in virtually every other porn movie I know of means a heavy anal sex emphasis. There’s absolutely none of that in the movie, and it instead focuses on your normal couples sex without even going so far as having an ass get fingered. I’m deducting a half point from the overall rating due to how misleading this is.

Menus: The menus are okay, but nothing too special. The main menu blends a clip of the movie with the boxcover in a pleasant way, but starts several seconds into the main menu which made me think at first that it was unanimated. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a scene number.

The Feature: Asia Carrera gets around a lot, despite being engaged, and everybody seems to know it. Her house just seems to be a sex magnet, which is about as close as you’re going to get to a plot here.

As with almost all Roy Karch features, it starts off with a softcore scene behind the opening credits. This time around it’s Asia Carrera, and I’m at least 95% certain he wasn’t even hard for it with how Asia slid off him. As usual, there’s also no pop shot. It’s an okay way to start a movie, but is so old here that I winced when I saw it here.

Guy DiSilva stumbles upon Blair Segal, a redhead who I don’t think I’ve ever seen look as good as she does here, pleasuring herself on the couch as he tries sneaking out of Asia’s house. He gets caught, and after they talk briefly, lets her continue to diddle herself as he watches. Guy whips out his cock when he can’t resist it any longer, and dives into Blair’s beaver when she begs him to touch her. Blair gives Guy an impressive blowjob before climbing up to get the reverse cowgirl position out of the way. They also work through spoon and missionary before Guy puts his creamy center on her chin. It’s a pretty hot scene thanks to some great chemistry. Unfortunately, the editing liked to focus on extreme close-ups, which held the scene back for me.

Steve Hatcher and Deja Blew get busy in Asia’s well outfitted garage, which comes complete with couch. Steve quickly goes down on Deja to give her an oral warmup before laying back to let her return the favor. They start out fucking facing each other before going through doggie and ending with Steve decorating Deja’s tits. I can’t say that Deja’s the best looking fuck bunny around, but she sure as heck turns out an energetic performance. In addition to some great energy, Deja and Steve also have great chemistry together to help turn this scene into another winner.

Deja Blew and Taylor Moore start cooking with gas in Asia’s kitchen while she takes a shower. Deja drops down to initiate the giving, working her pierced tongue deep into Taylor’s twat. Taylor reciprocates nicely before grabbing one of the corn-shaped dildos laying on the counter to fuck Deja with. Deja gives Taylor her turn with a cucumber dildo until Taylor collapses on the counter. It’s another surprisingly hot scene with an abundance of chemistry. The camera focused a bit much on close-ups once again, but moves around enough that I rarely felt I was missing out on anything.

Chris Cannon comes over to Asia’s with Herschel Savage and Blondie Anderson. Asia and Herschel make their way up to her bedroom, despite Asia and Herschel being married, where Asia seduces Herschel while Chris gets busy with Blondie. Chris and Blonde exchange oral favors before working through most of the standard positions and finishing things up with a facial. This is easily the lamest scene in the movie, and I don’t think it even makes it quite up to the average level. All blame here goes to the camera work and editing. I rarely saw both the penetration and the star’s reaction to it in the same shot. This always brings a scene down for me, and it pretty much killed this one.

Asia Carrera finishes things up with Herschel Savage, and has him start out by kissing her kitty. She returns the favor with what I’m pretty sure is a great blowjob, since I don’t think I’ve ever seen her give a bad one, but so much of it is obscured that you barely saw any of it and what you do see the camera gets so close for that you still can’t see much. Asia moves on through cowgirl and missionary before taking Herschel’s cock cream on her well implanted tits. It’s a nicely done scene with Asia and Herschel giving just as good of a performance as I expected. There’s really nothing surprising about this scene at all in any way, and I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Nothing Sacred both impresses me and turns me off. On the impressive side is the sex. Most of it has excellent chemistry and energy, which makes it very fun to watch. There isn’t a single scene here where I had even the inkling of a thought that the performers might not be into each other. This always makes for a great start to a porno, even if the camera angles and editing holds things back a little as they do here. My problem with the movie comes with the plot. Sexually, Nothing Sacred is aimed towards couples, yet the entire storyline revolves around infidelity as if there’s nothing wrong with it. Granted, there isn’t much of a plot throughout the movie, but the little there is seems to say that there’s no reason to be faithful to that certain someone anymore. Nothing Sacred is worth checking out if you want easygoing sex with great chemistry, but if you want anything else you’d be better off going elsewhere.

Extras: The photo gallery lasts about a minute and three quarters with about five seconds per nice looking snapshot or full screen photo. Annoyingly, if you decide to try and speed things up, the photo gallery ends and sends you back to the main menu. Sadly, that’s it for extras.

Themes: Straight, masturbation, voyeurism, interracial, rimming (male > female), lesbian, and toys

Condoms Usage: Only in the first scene

Raincoat Factor: High

Overall: Currently, Nothing Sacred can be found online for between $11 and $25 with stores offering it all over the place. The low end is more than fair for what you get here. Sexually it’s a very good couples movie, and although it has a nice transfer there aren’t really any extras.

Note to Playtime Entertainment: If you’re going to put out this bare-bones of DVDs, please structure your prices so retailers can sell them for below under $10. Otherwise you’ve got a lot of competition that’ll give people a better product at a lower price.
