The Short Story

Initial Expectations: I’m really not sure what to expect here. I’m going in with wide open expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s one of the best bondage features I’ve seen so far and one well worth checking out.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting the darker side of Nina or who’s at all interested in bondage

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants completely pain focused bondage

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very good for a bondage feature. The audio is clear and very nicely balanced, and I don’t think I heard a single background noise. The lighting is just slightly on the dark side, although it’s even and works very well for the feature. There’s a small amount of grain, but even at its worst the grain is very average.

Music: None

False Advertising: Emily Marilyn is listed in the credits, but never appears in the movie. Sadly, this happens a bit too often in Bizarre’s movies, and I’m deducting a half point because of it.

Menus: The menus are nicely done. The main menu has some nice animation that gives a very good first impression. The chapter menu is pretty standard and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature

Nina Hartley’s Private Sessions lets Nina exercise the dark side that most people don’t associate with her. There’s a small lead-in to each scene where Nina and her hubby Ernest Greene lead their partner in and introduce the scene. Sometimes it’s just a new playmate and sometimes it almost borders on a plot. Regardless, it’s always short and lets things get down to the action quickly.

Scene 1 - Anna Mills and Nina Hartley

Anna starts things out wanting to work for Ernest and Nina. She shows up in an appropriate latex outfit and lets Ernest and Nina examine her before leaving Nina to conduct the interview. Nina has Anna start out by giving her latex outfit some of the care it needs before moving down to lick Nina’s boots. Nina rewards Anna with a few kisses, and then sucks her nipples to get them ready for a set of nipple clamps that she makes Anna wear while worshiping her ass. She gives Anna’s naughty parts a bit more attention before putting her on all fours. Nina continues to mix the pleasure and pain by spanking and flogging her with breaks for a few licks down under and a vibe. This is an extremely hot bondage scene. Nina and Anna have excellent chemistry, and you can tell that they’re both really into their roles. I love how Nina mixes things up, and especially that they get a little sex in rather than limiting it to non-sex action. This is a great scene to start things off with, and went far beyond what my initial expectations for the movie were.

Scene 2 - Amber Michaels and Nina Hartley

Ernest and Nina lead Amber into their new play space with her eyes covered before letting her see a little of what she’s in for. Amber’s definitely excited, and Ernest leaves them to enjoy each other as Nina starts to fasten her to an upright bondage table. She flogs Amber, starting with her shoulders and then moving down to her ample ass. Of course Nina mixes in a bit of pleasure, rubbing Amber’s pussy, kissing her ass, and even holding a vibe on her clit. Nina also works Amber over with her hand and a crop before flipping Amber over to repeat the treatment as Amber quivers and moans away. This is another extremely hot scene. Once again Nina and her partner look to be completely into the action, and there’s no denying that they’re both enjoying themselves to the max. Nina mixes things up well once again, and keeps a great balance between pleasure and pain. This is an excellent scene, and the only problem with it is that it just fades out like the porno timer went off rather than feeling like it comes to a natural ending.

Scene 3 - Brittany O’Connell and Rick O’Shay

Rick leads Brittany in on a leash to test out Ernest and Nina’s new space to start out the penultimate scene. After Ernest leaves them alone, Rick fastens Brittany’s hands to a bar above her head and raises it high enough she can’t move around on him. He breaks out a crop, and works his way around Brittany a little more while taking off her clamps before suspending her upside down. This is another pretty hot scene. Rick does a good job as the dom, and Brittany looks to be into receiving quite well. This is the most limited scene in the movie, and didn’t hold my interest nearly as well as the others. It also suffers a bit by having a fade out ending once again rather than feeling like it came to a natural conclusion.

Scene 4 - Kylie Ireland, Nina Hartley, and Ernest Greene

Kylie starts out the final scene on all fours with Nina pumping her from behind with a strap-on. They’re interrupted by Ernest, who holds Kylie’s collar while she gets fucked before having Nina take a break. He works Kylie over with his hand, a flogger, a crop, and a whip while Nina kisses her and lets her lick a little pussy. Nina even plays with Kylie’s pussy while Ernest whips Kylie’s nipples. This is another great scene. For a long time now Kylie’s been saying that she isn’t the good girl everybody thinks of her as, and this scene goes a long way to showing it. She takes some heavy treatment here, and seems to get into it all very well. I was amazed at the whipping she took, and just as amazed at how much she got into it. She and Nina have great chemistry here as well, and make this a great scene to finish things up with.

Nina Hartley’s Private Sessions is an excellent bondage movie. Nina and Ernest Greene bring great enthusiasm together with a cast that’s just as enthusiastic. I never had any doubt if the performers were into the treatment they were receiving, and sometimes was even amazed at how much everybody was getting into it. Nina seemed to have the ability to draw it out of her partners, as Anna, Amber, and Kylie all really impressed me. Brittany’s scene was the weakest, but even then struck me as a fairly average scene at the worst who’s biggest problem was that it was missing Nina and the enthusiasm she brought to the screen. Kylie’s scene was probably the best, as she took the heaviest bondage treatment while also having Ernest and Nina team up to give her a little action. Nina Hartley’s Private Sessions far surpassed my expectations for it, and has me looking forward to the other installments of this series. If you’re at all interested in bondage, make sure you check this one out.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Bizarre DVDs can be found online for between $14 and $28 with most stores offering them for over $20. This one’s well worth the money. The action is very hot and the performers all look to be really into it. The technical aspects also show quite a bit of care, although there isn’t really any effort put into the extras.

Note to Bizarre: Please watch your cover claims better in the future. I’m not familiar with Emily Marilyn, but I’m sure that she has some fans out there who are very disappointed she wasn’t in here. A little more care towards your extras would also be a good thing, as I’ve seen more creativity in some Vanilla Ice songs than you normally put towards your extras.
