Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are a bit disappointing. The audio is pretty well balanced and clear of background noises, but there are a few areas that are more than a little hollow. The video is presented in the full screen format and is the main reason for my disappointment. The camera work is steady, but the video has some noticeable pixelation and the action is tinted with what appears to be the use of a reddish orange light through about the first half of the movie. The combination of the light and pixelation flatten out much of the picture and definitely holds the movie back, and thankfully it wasn't nearly as strong for the second scene.

The Movie: Nina Hartley hosts this instructional release that focuses on the sensuality of touch. She starts out on a couch with Adrianna Nicole discussing some of what they love about massage, including the difference between therapeutic and erotic massage. They discuss preparation, different oils, a few other helpful items, and the right mindset. Nina even discusses a few different techniques, both right and wrong before moving on with the demonstrations.

Nina has Randy strip down and lay on his stomach before oiling up her hands and starting to massage her way around Randy. Naturally Nina discusses what she's doing as why, and approaches the subject with both personal and technical points of view. She continues all around Randy's body, saving his cock for last which she works over with her hands before moving on with her mouth. Nina Hartley's Guide to Erotic Massage is a very nicely done release. As usual Nina keeps a very friendly feeling from start to finish, and even when things turn to anal in each scene it seems completely natural and loving rather than being there to kick things up and possibly chase a few people off. She does a nice job keeping her demonstration practical, informative, and sexy, and I like the balance between her doing the instructional massage in the first scene and Alec just demonstrating without any of the lecture in the second. Both couples have plenty of chemistry, and there's a great loving feel from start to finish. The only thing that really holds this release back is Adrianna Nicole as the sidekick in the lecture portions. She looks just slightly more interested in what Nina's talking about than a vegetarian would be learning the latest techniques and innovations being used at the slaughterhouse, and gave the impression that everything that came out of her mouth was heavily prompted. I'll also question having anal in both scenes, despite it being handled very well. Instructional releases like this are something that I think a lot of couples pick up looking for ways to spice things up a little, and anal might push things a little too far for some couples. That said, Nina Hartley's Guide to Erotic Massage is a very nicely done instructional release that's well worth picking up if you're at all interested in the subject.

The Extras: The photo gallery lasts about seven and a quarter minutes, and annoyingly pans and zooms around each photo. There's also a behind the scenes featurette, a bonus scene, trailers, and commercials.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about a half hour. Ernest starts out chatting with Marie and Alec about her time in the industry, being nominated for awards, and striving to do more sexually. Nina talks with them about how her instructional releases work before they get Marie all dressed up. You also get a bit of Mika Tan, Sandra Romain, and Vicky Vette, as this release was shot at the same time as Nina Hartley's Guide to the Ultimate Sex Party, in addition to Chris Cannon and Byron Long. Nina has a great time chatting with Byron, Chris, and Alec about gangbangs, penis envy, and some of the cast. Nina and Adrianna get their hair done as Nina chats about the movies with Ernest and the cast with Adrianna. This featurette leaves me with mixed feelings. There's some great stuff here, but the featurette seems to focus much stronger on the making of Nina Hartley's Guide to the Ultimate Sex Party than it does Nina Hartley's Guide to Erotic Massage. Nina's chat with Byron, Chris, and Alec is easily the highlight of the featurette, but it's also to see how great and supportive they are towards other performers chatting with Marie to start the featurette. A little more focus on this release would have been nice, but this is still a very good addition to the overall DVD.

The interview with Nina Hartley lasts about fifteen minutes. Nina starts out talking about why she loves erotic massage and thinks it's important for couples. She also talks about giving versus getting and how her focus changes between them as well as difficulties each sex seems to have with erotic massage. Nina shares one of her favorite massage memories and what she loves about massages with each sex. This is a very nice featurette and a great addition to the overall DVD.

The bonus scene comes from Carmen's Dirty Secrets. Scott eyes brunette Domino as she touches herself up in a mirror before she moves to a tiled ledge to check him out with the help of her crop. Final Thoughts: As usual with Nina Hartley's instructional releases, if you're at all interested in learning about the subject it's well worth picking up.
