Initial Expectations: I’m hoping for something more than what was in Nina Hartley’s Guide to Oral Sex, but the cover makes it look like it’s the same feature.

Audio /Video Quality: The sound is normally very clear and well balanced, although it’s a little quiet. Although Nina isn’t always the focus of the camera, she can always be heard clearly as she narrates. There are a few moments in the fellatio feature where there’s a little noise that sounds like somebody bumped the mic and a bit that’s a little hollow. There’s also a few minor background noises. The video looks like it hasn’t been changed since the original VHS release. It’s very pixelized in some areas and has quite a bit of grain. It also has some soft focus problems during the fantasy portion.

Music: There isn’t any music during the educational portions, but there’s typical porn music during the fantasy scenes that’s nicely balanced with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The menus are extremely simple. The chapter menu lets you jump to one of four points in the feature.

The Feature: Nina Hartley has been one of the mainstays of the adult film world through three decades. In that time, as well as making hundreds of features, she’s been a vocal supporter for first amendments rights, health issues, and responsible porn. I don’t know if she has a degree in Sexology, which is probably more of a lay term (pun intended), but after the amount of time she’s had devoted to sex I think I’d trust Nina on most common sex matters more than a PhD. If it’s sexual, you know she’s probably had some kind of experience with it, as opposed to the PhD who, odds are, was studying instead of getting busy.

Nina starts out with a short discussion of the origin of fellatio as a word and moves onto an anatomical description of the cock, nicely combining layman’s terms with medical terms while showing a few slides and using a dildo to demonstrate. Nina finally describes how to exercise the PC muscle through Kegel exercises.

Next, Nina brings out Alex Sanders, who apparently knows which lotteries to enter, to help with a demonstration. She adds a few tips with things such as how to tell when he likes what you’re doing (he’s hard) or small techniques. She also gives a few tips for women who don’t really enjoy cocksucking or for when you’re interrupted by things like the phone, your kids coming in, or a surprise birthday party. She covers most everything for blowjobs from the traditional stereotypical style to mouth fucking to combining the hand and the mouth while also subtly emphasizing the importance of communication during sex. Nina does a great job of combining her narration with her demonstrations and all the time making it look like it’s one of her absolute favorite things to do. She finishes it off with a nice demonstration without the commentary ending up with Alex’s ball butter all over her tits.

Finally, Nina presents one of her fantasies entitles A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever . Nina starts out as a painter doing a nude portrait of Alex Sanders. She senses something wrong and finally figures out the main problem is Alex’s cock isn’t hard enough but knows her mouth can fix that. After a little oral tease, Alex and Nina kiss a bit and work through a little other foreplay such as dryfucking. Finally, Nina drops down to show what her mouth can do while Alex shows near superhuman control. Unlike the cunnilingus scene, which focused on the subject of the feature, this one goes beyond Nina’s mouth and hands working over Alex’s rod. Alex follow’s up Nina’s great blowjob by eating her pussy and ass from behind before fucking her from behind. She rolls over for a little more loving before finally working Alex’s one eyed snake up to being spitting mad with her mouth and hands, decorating her tits. It’s a very good scene thanks to the chemistry between Nina and Alex, but the camera work left a little to be desired in places. There were some spots where you couldn’t even see if Alex was really fucking Nina or not and the closeups didn’t look like they really belonged where they were put. There are minor complaints, but they bothered me enough to hold back this scene a little for me.

Nina Hartley’s Guide to Better Fellatio is a good feature for anybody who wants to improve their blowjob techniques. It gives a nice anatomical background so you have a little idea of what to stimulate and why. She balances this out with a nice demonstration with Alex Sanders and a fantasy scene that shows her practicing her oral and other skills.

Extras: As with the rest of the Nina Hartley’s Guide to: series, there isn’t much for extras. There’s a short biography and website information .

Overall: Currently, Nina Hartley’s Guide to Better Fellatio can be found online for between about $14 and $23 with only one store offering it for under about $20. I can’t really recommend paying that much for this feature. You can get it and Nina Hartley’s Guide to Better Cunnilingus on the same DVD, namely Nina Hartley’s Guide to Oral Sex and with the same extras for less money.

Note to Adam & Eve: I’m not really sure what you’re trying to do here, since this feature was already released as part of Nina Hartley’s Guide to Oral Sex. If the technical aspects were much better than in the original I could have understood it, but this is kind of puzzling.
