Initial Expectations: I’m hoping for something beyond what was in Nina Hartley’s Guide to Oral Sex, but from the cover it looks like the same thing.

Initial Reaction: It’s the same feature as was included in Nina Hartley’s Guide to Oral Sex.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody looking to increase their skill at muff munching

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who knows how to use a tongue they can lick the tip of their nose with.

Audio /Video Quality: The sound is normally very clear and well balanced, although it’s a little quiet. Although Nina isn’t always the focus of the camera, she can always be heard clearly as she narrates. There are a few moments in the fellatio feature where there’s a little noise that sounds like somebody bumped the mic and a bit that’s a little hollow. There’s also a few minor background noises. The video leaves quite a bit to be desired and looks like it hasn’t been touched since its original VHS release. It’s very pixelized and shows quite a bit of grain.

Music: There isn’t any music during the educational portions, but there’s typical porn music during the fantasy scenes that’s nicely balanced with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The menus are very simple. The chapter menu lets you jump to one of four places in the feature.

The Feature: Nina Hartley has been one of the mainstays of the adult film world through three decades. In that time, as well as making hundreds of features, she’s been a vocal supporter for first amendments rights, health issues, and responsible porn. I don’t know if she has a degree in Sexology, which is probably more of a lay term (pun intended), but after the amount of time she’s had devoted to sex I think I’d trust Nina on most common sex matters more than a PhD. If it’s sexual, you know she’s probably had some kind of experience with it, as opposed to the PhD who, odds are, was studying instead of getting busy.

Nina starts off giving a little speech about oral sex and goes on to a health class style lesson on the female sex organs. She also gives a short description of Kegel exercises for the PC muscles and how it can help you sexually. She even breaks out the pussy puppet for a few demonstrations as well as a few slides.

After the lecture, Angela Faith, Nina, Nina’s husband David, and Moose give a demonstration. Angela is strapped up on a love swing for easy access for both her partner and the camera. Each person sits between Angela’s spread legs. Nina and David each give a small demonstration and lecture, while Moose, who apparently got the long straw earlier that day, gets to actually do the main deed. In addition to the camera catching most of what Moose does, Nina gives a play by play on his actions. It’s a nice mix of education and sex. The only complaint I have about it is there aren’t many different techniques demonstrated here. It’s a great way to show the basics, but there isn’t much here for anybody who’s been down on a woman where any communication is involved.

Finally, in the cunnilingus section, is one of Nina’s fantasies, called The French Lesson. Nina and Angela are on a train seated next to each other. Angela falls asleep on Nina and wakes up, apologizing. Nina doesn’t speak much English, but they manage to communicate just the same, especially after Nina opens her legs wide for Angela. Angela works her way gently into Nina’s pussy with her tongue and fingers, with the camera getting just the right angles to capture her motions extremely well. Angela gets to receive next, with Nina demonstrating a little more aggressive technique for pussy eating. She also breaks out a toy and drops her French accent, at which Angela gives a nice little show of surprise. Nina eats Angela a little more before putting the dildo to work on her pussy. It’s a good little scene that has good chemistry and heat as well as having fun.

Nina Harley’s Guide to Better Cunnilingus is a great feature for anybody who’s unsure of their techniques for going down on a woman, or who just wants a few more ideas. It nicely blends both women and men’s perspectives on the subject as well as giving anatomical lessons and demonstrations. As always, Nina’s fantasy scene is a nice cap on the entire feature. If you’re interested in this, it’s a great feature to watch, but rather than picking up this DVD, check out Nina Hartley’s Guide to Oral Sex, which includes this feature as well as Nina Hartley’s Guide to Better Fellatio.

Extras: As with the rest of the Nina Hartley’s Guide to: series, there isn’t much for extras. There’s a short biography and website information.

Overall: Currently, Nina Hartley’s Guide to Better Cunnilingus can be found online for between about $14 and $23 with only one store offering it for under about $20. I can’t really recommend paying that much for this feature. You can get it and Nina Hartley’s Guide to Better Fellatio on the same DVD, namely Nina Hartley’s Guide to Oral Sex and with the same extras for less money.

Note to Adam & Eve: I’m not really sure what you’re trying to do here, since this feature was already released as part of Nina Hartley’s Guide to Oral Sex. If the technical aspects were much better than in the original I could have understood it, but this is kind of puzzling.
