Night Stick (Vivid Straight) Review

What was I thinking when I decided to see this? I remember Desert Rose fondly, so I thought I'd see what Kody (her nom de Vivid) has been up to. She's lightened her hair, but she's still quite a cutie. I wish I could erase the rest of this picture from my memory.

The plot: It's an amnesia movie, I guess. But usually the person who wakes up wondering, "Who am I? Where am I?" shows some interest in finding out the answers. Here, Kody just decides to roll with the guy she wakes up next to (who claims to be her husband), hits the road with him and then falls asleep and has a couple of dreams. In the end, we find out some surprising truths, many of which make no sense at all in relation to what has gone before.

The real villain of the movie, sadly, is the surgeon responsible for poor Kody's implants. A true monster.

The play-by-play: Kody wakes up next to Eric Masterson, who is handcuffed to the night table. She doesn't remember who he is, and the handcuffs make her suspicious, but that doesn't mean she isn't going to fuck him. The first sexual image of the movie is Masterson licking Kody's foot, then some toe-sucking. An unusual choice, and not my thing, but he does move along to her pussy soon enough. A blowjob with Kody on her hands and knees follows, and she's still looking good. Then... missionary sex, in which we get our first full-length look at her. Her breasts are actually lumpy, in addition to being ill-shaped. After that first look, she spends the rest of the scene either cupping them with her hands or crossing her arms, to help conceal the problem. The view of the rest of her is nicest in doggie, and the sex grows in intensity a little in spoon, but unfortunately, I'm left distracted. Oddly, there's no pop shot, just a (presumably) faked internal.

At a diner, Kody foils an attempted robbery, after which the waitress who just had a shotgun in her face decides that instead of calling the police, she'll just leave the perp handcuffed inside and take the cook out back and fuck him. Oooo-kay. A back alley setting gives Malitia's scene with Steven French a nicely squalid feel, but it does pretty much limit the positions to standing doggie, ending in a butt pop.

Kody and Masterson spend the night at a motel, where they hear the pounding and moaning of sex next door. Oddly enough, when we cut to Briana Banks and Bobby Vitale, they haven't started yet. OK, fuck continuity. At least it's a decent performance, with some opening 69 followed by a nice suspended reverse cowgirl (meaning Banks' feet go in the air, not anchored on anything). Vitale goes for speed over finesse, and he has to pull out and club his pecker a couple of times to keep from ending the scene early. I actually like that this is left in; it adds a hint of realism. Same thing happens in a brief, aggressive spoon. The realism is quickly undermined when Banks looks straight at the camera after the money shot, one of those vertical oral pops (mouth poised above the cock) that misses everything. Whoops.

Back in Kody's room, suddenly the lights are on, and Roxanne Hall is standing there naked. I guess that's cool. We cut between them for some dull tease, while I wonder what happened to Masterson. Some lackluster pussy-licking ensues. Oh, I get it. It was all a dream. Or, in other words, Well, we need more than three sex scenes.

After a five-second shot of Kody sleeping, we cut straight to a second dream. This time, Masterson gets to play too, in a threesome with Kody and Malitia. Well, Kody helps out a little, but the sex is all between Masterson and Malitia. There's mish and doggie, and a butt pop, and then we just have to unsuccessfully tie the plot together to finish.

Pros: Nothing noteworthy comes to mind. Banks and Vitale did OK, I guess.

Cons: Honestly, I don't ask much of a porn feature. But I do want to know why people are having sex. It's bad enough if a scene is just blatant filler extraneous to the plot, like Banks and Vitale in the motel and the dream sequences, but the Malitia diner scene doesn't even make sense. It's almost aggressively stupid.

Some of the edits between positions are quite abrupt, with no transitions attempted.

DVD extras: Bonus scenes -- Kody (pre-implants) and Eric Masterson from Any Dorm In a Storm; Kody and Masterson from Center Stage; Christi Lake, Kody and Randy Spears from Sold; Zana and Julian from Hard Evidence 2; Michelle Michaels and Lee Stone from Woman Under Glass. There are a couple of photo galleries and a nearly useless seven-minute Behind The Scenes featurette. I don't know about you, but what I want to see in a BTS piece is personality, maybe some interaction between actors, director, and crew ... unscripted moments. What we get here is mostly video of people shooting stills. Yawn. The bonus scenes provide some value, though.

Summing up: Your average porn feature is pretty lame, and believe me, I do grade on a curve. But this is still below average.
