NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. That said, amateur and homemade features have a great charm to them, simple because the people in them are doing what they’re doing to have fun and because they enjoy it. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are a bit on the weak side, which isn't too unusual for amateur porn. The audio is fairly well balanced and there aren't too many background noises to interfere with the action. The video is presented in the full frame format, and often a little dark. There's also some noticeable camera motion as well as pixelation through most of the movie. That said, even at it's worst it's as good or better than the typical home movie.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower left corner. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on six stills.

The Feature

This scene kept a smile on my face almost the entire time.

Not surprisingly, Nicole and Jack 2 is a very nice amateur release. As usual with Shot at Home, there's a great feeling between the stars, and as usual with Nicole there's a very nice and very easy personality that comes out throughout the movie. Although traditional porn fans might not like all the little segments of them playing around between the two scenes, it was a big part of why the movie worked for me and gave the movie a great playful feeling. Yes, there's only two sex scenes, but there's also more chemistry in those two darker than normal scenes than I see in the normal porno. Nicole and Jack are clearly having fun making this movie, and because of that, I had a lot of fun watching it. Yes, if you want to look for negatives the sex is a bit limited, the action is often on the dark side, and there's a very “home movie” feel to it, but the charm of the movie easily overcomes the things that might hold it back. If you want porn with a natural feeling and a hot easygoing redhead, Nicole and Jack 2 is well worth checking out.

Currently, most of Shot at Home's DVDs can be found on their website for around $20. If you're a fan of Nicole Scott or want a very fun and playful feeling with your porn, this one might be worth the money. There's only two scenes, but they're both a lot of fun despite some weaker than normal technical aspects. Although the technical aspects might lack a little here, Shot at Home has still put some nice effort into the extras with a half hour preview reel from some of their other releases. This is a pretty good amateur release.
