Initial Expectations: I haven't seen much of Manuel's work behind the camera, but the little I've seen has been nicely impressive. Even if this wasn't an Evil Angel release I'd be looking forward to this one.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, with only a few small portions being hard to hear. The video is presented in non-anamorphic widescreen, which is easily the biggest problem with the technical aspects. The lighting also falters a little in a few places, but never enough to interfere with the action much. Although the movie appears to be shot entirely by hand, there's also no bad camera motion to interfere with the action.

Menus: The main menu nicely works together a bit of the movie with a little animation for a nice first impression. The chapter menu shows the care one can't help but expect from Evil Angel, and lets you choose from a few places in each scene based on a small clip of each segment along with the name(s) of the girl(s) in each scene.

The Feature

Manuel Ferrara focuses on fresh talent with New Whore on the Block. The scenes frequently have a little story to lead into them, but Manuel mixes in plenty of tease and a light and fun feeling so that the lead-ins can help the overall movie rather than reminding viewers why they have a remote control.

Scene 2 – Ginger Lee and Manuel Ferrara

Manuel stops by Michael's to tell him how he has to come by and see his cousin Amy, who Mike hasn't seen since she was around thirteen. New Whores on the Block is a fantastic fresh talent fuck flick. Manuel does a very nice job mixing up the action, and also shows that a little something to start off each scene can really help the scenes get to a higher level. Every setup in the movie is fun and helps out their scene, while also pushing a few limits with the incest, voyeurism, and sex toy themes. Better yet, there isn't a single scene that misses a beat as they move from tease and humor to sex. I'd have a very hard time deciding which scene is best here, as there isn't a scene that even falls to the “very good” level. New Whores on the Block is easily one of the best fresh talent movies I've ever watched, and I can't help but hope that this is the start of a series. Regardless, it shows that Manuel Ferrara definitely deserves a place at the Evil Empire and that porn fans really need to keep an eye on what he's doing.

The Extra Stuff

In addition to a cast listing by scene and a list of the contents of the second DVD, website information is included on the first DVD. The second DVD contains the remainder of the extras, starting with the photo gallery, which includes over sixty great looking snapshots. Filmographies are included for Peyton and Sasha Knox. There's also cumshot recaps and several featurettes.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts over thirty five minutes. After a quick chat with Amy, things move over for Mia to show off a personality that's as fine as her ass. This is a very nice behind the scenes featurette, and well worth checking out if you enjoyed the movie.

The outtakes last about three minutes. Sasha and Peyton start things out with a bit of toy play before Sasha heads down to join Manuel on the couch in a slightly different take on their coming together. It's a very short segment, but if you enjoyed Sasha's scene it's also very worth checking out.

The photo shoot lasts about twelve and a half minutes. As usual, this just shows the girls posing for their stills. There's a few comments in the background, but nothing from the girls. You get to see Amy Ried, Mia Rose, Lorena Sanchez, Kelly Broox, and Ginger Lee as they pose for their stills. It's a nice bit of eye candy that adds a little to the overall DVD but not a lot.

Currently, most of Evil Angel’s DVDs can be found online for between about $18 and $30, with a few stores offering them in the $20 range. This one's well worth the money. The movie is fantastic, with fun setups and smoking hot sex. The technical aspects are pretty good, but are held back by a little low lighting and a non-anamorphic transfer. There is some nice effort, however, put into the extras to help out the overall DVD. This is a very nice 2 DVD set!

Note to Manuel Ferrara / Evil Angel: It's great to see you supporting the widescreen format, but please take your support to an anamorphic transfer. With it, I would have had a very hard time not giving this one a 5 overall!
