This early 2004 release seems to conform to Blake's pledge not to photograph women in a "vulgar way." Naked Diva is all but a softcore movie: while it has enough exposed labia and simulated sex to miss an R-rating, there's no penetration, toys, or explicit masturbation in this all-girl film. The action sometimes comes close, with what I call "almost masturbation" and "almost girl-girl," but Naked Diva is rightly a fetish or tease video. The four divas in the main feature, Blake staples Dahlia Grey and Aria Giovanni and newcomers Jelena Jensen and Chiane, concentrate on a few fetishes: breast play, kissing, ass worship, lingerie, and upskirt. With their big, natural, and beautiful breasts, they squeeze, shake, and rub them against one another with great effect--it's the number one thing that I will remember from this movie. Since the tease is the main event here, Blake also shows the women off in a number of ass-flattering positions, including the popular crawling and stair climbing positions. Finally, although the action is tame, the girls are always showing their intimates--including a couple of vignettes with the camera underneath a transparent glass catwalk zooming up the girls' crotches. There are a lot of people who like Dahlia Grey, a fixture in Blake's films, but I prefer Aria and her milky boobs. With only four girls in the entire two hour movie, I'm glad that Blake added two new girls, the equally endowed Jelena Jensen and ebony beauty Chiane. I think I would have given a harsher rating to this title if he had used only his regular players (such as Dahlia, Aria, Adriana Sage, Anita Blonde, etc.) I know it must be hard to find model-quality talent for erotic films, but Blake still manages to surprise. Mechanically, Naked Diva treads no new ground. Dolby 5.1 soundtrack with the atmospheric music of Raoul Valve and no production sound. Visually, it's a crystal-clear film to video transfer presented in anamorphic widescreen. The 13 vignettes are not narrated and each runs a bit longer than normal. On the flip side of the disc is a full-length featurette (almost two hours long) with more of the same softcore tease action starring Dahlia, Adriana, Chiane, and Tanya James. The highlights include more traditional upskirt, lubed-up breasts, a lot of kissing, and Dahlia getting her armpits licked (!). After seeing his recent efforts, such as HardEdge, that seemed to be taking Blake back to his hardcore roots, I'm disappointed to see such a tame release from him. Granted, it's high quality stuff that is more erotic than overtly sexual, but still I think a lot of his fans are expecting some explicit sex in his features--presented tastefully, of course. As such, I can't recommend this DVD (despite 4 hours of content) unless you're really into softcore breast play or are in love with Dahlia or Aria.

you've heard anything about Andrew Blake, you'll probably know that he makes
very high-quality, artistic porn, and that he shies away from a lot of explicit
detail. But generally, there's almost always some hardcore action, if only
for a few fleeting seconds. Not so with Naked Diva.
