NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are slightly on the weak side for an amateur release. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice any background noises that interfered with the action. The video is presented in the full frame format and is a little weak. The lighting is borderline, but far from bad, and although there's a little camera motion it rarely interferes much with the movie. The main problem is the grain, which is very noticeable and does interfere with things a bit.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower right corner. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on six clips from the movie.

The Feature

I'll admit right away to having some mixed feelings on Nadia's style due to her wearing some facial piercings which are always a turn-off for me and some of her tattoos, but I also love her pierced nipples and the glasses she wears, which gives her a kind of shy, nerdy, bookish look that hides a wild woman on the inside. I have much stronger reservations about Devon's looks, as “freak” is the first word to pop into my head with all of his tattoos, piercings, and the rest of his body style, so I was quite happy that he was hidden most of the time either behind the camera or behind Nadia. All that went almost completely to the side for me, however, due to the great spirit that Nadia and Devon share. There's a fantastic feeling of playfulness throughout the movie, and that little glimmer in Nadia's eyes seems ready to come out and shine at a moment's notice. The anal play and squirting in the final scene is great, but there really isn't a down moment in this release. If I had paid a little more attention to some of the body styles in Nadia and Devon 1 there's a chance I might have passed it by, but I'm very glad I didn't pay that much attention going in as this one far exceeded my expectations. If you want amateur porn with a great feeling and a couple with a little rougher look, Nadia and Devon 1 really deserves a look.

Currently, most of Shot at Home's DVDs can be found on their website for around $20. This one's well worth the money. Nadia and Devon have a rougher look that I think will appeal to many, and there's some great passion and a wonderful sense of fun between them. The video's a little on the weak side, but the audio's nicely done and there's Shot at Home's usual care for the overall DVD with the preview reel. This is a very nice amateur debut video that leaves me looking forward to more.
