Cast: Shayla LaVeaux, Olivia Del Rio, and “you”, played by Anthony. The cover lists Olivia O’Lovely instead of Oliva Del Rio, so I’m deducting a half point from the overall score because Anarchy isn’t even competent enough to keep track of the names of two girls.

The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Anarchy’s past efforts at virtual sex DVDs have made me wonder if they needed step by step instructions complete with pictures to jerk off while normally lying on what they were going to do. Needless to say, I’m not going in here with too high of expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s a pretty typical Anarchy virtual DVD. Good sex, virtual, and plenty of blatantly false advertising to deliberately mislead consumers.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting a well done virtual sex DVD

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are the only thing that are well done in the entire DVD. The audio is clear and well balanced, but there are a few comments from behind the camera late in the movie. The video is also nicely done. It’s normally nicely lit and has a slightly soft feeling. It shows just a little grain, but it doesn’t interfere too much. The biggest problem is that the lighting is very inconsistent throughout the movie.

Bullshit, Borderline, and Boneheaded Advertising: Once again, Anarchy earns a full point penalty on the overall DVD score, to take them up to an entire point and a half point off. The front cover advertises features of Multi-Angle, Extremely Nasty, Sweet or Nasty, Personal Lap Dance, Strip Dance, Shot Exclusively for DVD, Point of View (P.O.V.), and Cum Shot at a Push of a Button. The only really honest and good claim here is the cum shot claim, which actually happens but has its own problems that I’ll get into later.

Most of the claims are bullshit, and since they appear on every single release in Anarchy’s Virtual Sex with series I see no reason to not believe that Anarchy is making a deliberate attempt to mislead consumers. Once again, I didn’t find a single spot where the multiple angle feature of the DVD was able to be used. There was also no sweet or nasty options, no personal lap dance, and no real strip dance. There is a tease dance, but it’s only for Olivia and her outfit stays on the entire time (which kind of nixes the strip idea). There’s also the claim of being extremely interactive, which is just as much bullshit as the other claims since the entire feature is basically a long scene with a chapter menu built into the movie.

Then there’s the borderline side of things. I guess the claim about being extremely nasty falls in here. Shayla does a great job of trash talking, so I guess some people might consider that extremely nasty. Personally, I didn’t think it was any nastier than Shayla normally is. There’s also the POV claim. There is some POV footage, but there’s also plenty that isn’t. With a POV footage claim listed prominently on the front cover, I think one should expect all of the footage to be shot POV. There’s plenty of borderline claims here, and due to Anarchy’s past record they lean much more towards the bullshit side of things than the boneheaded side.

Finally, there’s the boneheaded claims. The Shot Exclusively for DVD definitely comes in here, as I don’t know any other format somebody would make a feature like this for. I suppose they could do it for PC or Mac, but those died pretty well long ago.

Menus: The main menu has a nice bit of animation that gives a pretty good first impression.

The Feature

Apparently not content to mislead consumers with just one girl, Anarchy has set their sights a little higher and decided to mislead them with two girls! The first is Shayla LaVeaux, a well known and well built blonde with a great potty mouth. The second is Olivia del Rio, who at the time of this release was a very popular Brazilian star. Here you get to watch them get it on with each other and a guy who you might be able to think of as yourself with enough beer.

Olivia and Shayla both do a great job. Olivia’s tease to start things out was the weakest moment in the movie, and came off a bit laughable. The rest of the sex, the girls did a great job in. There were plenty of vocals on both sides, with Olivia spouting off in Portuguese (I think) and Shayla doing her usual great job of trash talking combined with some fantastic eyes. The girls take on each other both naturally and with toys, and Olivia even breaks out a strap-on to fuck Shayla. They team up to suck “your” cock, let “you” fuck them in missionary and cowgirl, with Olivia giving “you” the added bonus of reverse cowgirl while Shayla kicks things up with a little anal. Sadly anal only gets one choice, but it brings in both missionary and doggie anal. The girls had great chemistry together and put out some great energy to go with it. Sexually, Shayla and Olivia did a great job.

Since the first virtual sex DVDs came out (which were a little more advanced than Anarchy did here at the start of 2004), the pop shots have gotten plenty of attention. Many companies tried using faked wet pops as well as animated pops. Thankfully, Anarchy went with all real pops here. They vary in volume, but they’re definitely real. Although this should be a great thing, it did have a couple problems. First, you get to hear Anthony whining about having to pop a few times in the audio (mostly the second and third pop). Second, the pops all seem to be aimed at Olivia. She takes one on her bush in reverse cowgirl, one on her stomach in missionary, one on her ass as the girls are stacked, and finally shares a facial with Shayla. With a virtual title involving two girls and four pops, the decent thing to do would seem to be to split it between the two girls. Oops, my mistake. I forgot for a second that this is an Anarchy release. Finally, there’s no way to tell which pop goes with what position or person. They’re just listed as Pop 1 through Pop 4. The sexual aspect has potential that the technical side of things just can’t keep up with.

The biggest problem with this release is the virtual aspect. To start with, there’s the menus. They’re spread over both the right and left side of the screen and are huge. I think they take up over a third of the screen, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were pushing half the screen. They blend in okay with the scene at times, but frequently block the action or the girl’s reaction to the action. The virtual aspect is also extremely basic. Normally an interactive virtual sex release means that each sex act has a loop that repeats itself when it finishes so that you have control over what the girl does. Yes, this has the problem of the start and end not normally matching up completely, but that’s the price to pay for a virtual release and something that most companies seem to be improving all the time. Here there isn’t a single loop. The action starts and it just keeps advancing as it goes. If you want to go somewhere else, you can choose it off the chapter menu that’s listed on the left and right side of things. That’s basically all the menus are is a built in chapter menu, and it definitely brings down the entire release to a level that doesn’t even hit average.

With the right people making it, My Virtual Shayla & Olivia could have been a top notch feature. The girls both look great, put a lot of energy into their sequences, and have very good chemistry as well. The problem with it is in the virtual aspect, which is primitive and outdated at its best. Basically all My Virtual Shayla & Olivia amounts to is a long scene with the chapter menu put up with the action to let you choose where you want to go in the scene at any time. To me an interactive virtual release means that you tell the girl, or in this case girls, what to do and when to do it. Good companies figured out right away that this means you use loops to have the action continue. Yes, this has its own problems, but it’s much better than having the scene continue at its pace rather than yours. Combine that interface with plenty of false and misleading advertising, and My Virtual Shayla & Olivia ends up as a DVD which should have been much better than it is.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for Creamed 1, Creamed 2, Perverted POV, Twisted, and London Shaggers. The photo gallery includes over two dozen great looking snapshots which you can advance through at your own pace or which will advance on its own every ten seconds. There’s also a bloopers, weblinks, and mailing information.

The blooper reel lasts about eight minutes. It’s more of a behind the scenes featurette, like the back cover lists than a blooper reel, but with Anarchy one just can’t be too sure what you’re going to get. It’s a nice behind the scenes featurette that shows the scenes being shot as well as a bit of interaction between Shayla, Olivia, and the rest of the cast and crew. There’s plenty of fun and it’s more than obvious that Shayla loves her work. It’s a nice little featurette, and definitely worth checking out.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Anarcy’s interactive DVDs can be found online for between about $10 and $25 with stores offering them everywhere in between. Rent this one first. As usual the virtual aspect sucks but the girls do a nice job sexually. The technical aspects are pretty good, and there’s even a little effort put into the extras. This one is worth a rent, but with Anarchy’s continuation of lies on the cover I wouldn’t blame anybody for skipping it.

Note to Anarchy: With the amount of false advertising you’ve done on your virtual sex covers, you deserve to be sodomized with a frozen badger.
