My Next Door Crush is the second Vivid production to come out since Gamma Films has taken over the creation of Vivid; however, it appears to have been the first of the new features to have been shot. My Next Door Crush was directed by Craven Moorehead and written by Bree Mills.

My Next Door Crush takes on the same format as many of the Gamma Films productions do; the movie is essentially a feature-length vignette-style movie. My Next Door Crush has a little set-up at the beginning of the movie, and the rest of the movie is one extended sex scene.

The set-up is where My Next Door Crush is severely lacking. Unlike most of the Gamma Films productions, the set-up for My Next Door Crush is very short — far shorter than usual. The set-up for My Next Door Crush is that Matt (Jake Adams) sees his next door neighbor (Jill Kassidy) and develops an instant crush on her. She catches him spying on her through her window. She confronts Matt and finds out that he is an 18-year-old virgin.

The sex scene, which stars Jake Adams and Jill Kassidy, is well-done. Both Jake Adams and Jill Kassidy put in great sexual performances. The sex scene lasts for most of the run time of the movie. Jake Adams and Jill Kassidy have great sexual chemistry between them.

As viewers have come to expect from Gamma Films productions, the technical details are top notch. The movie is shot with a soft light style image with beautiful camera shots and excellent locations. The movie is well-edited.

A part of note, while Matt's friend Eli (Jason Moody) is talking to Matt on the phone, he is watching Ralph Parfait's 1997 Vivid movie Big Island Blues. Since this was seemingly intended to be the first of the new Vivid features, it does, in a way, pass the torch from the old style of Vivid movie to the new style of Vivid movie.

Overall, how does My Next Door Crush do? That is hard to say. My Next Door Crush feels like a Gamma Films production, not like a Vivid production. The set-up is profoundly lacking and really should have been extended. Viewers that like Gamma Films' design but aren't too heavily into a plot structure should enjoy the sex scene a lot. Viewers that like more plotted material will enjoy the sex scene but are bound to be let down by the rest of the movie.

The edition of My Next Door Crush screened is the streaming and download edition available on the Vivid channel of AdultTime.com. Vivid has done a beautiful job with their streaming and download edition of My Next Door Crush. My Next Door Crush was shot digitally and is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 2160p — commonly referred to as 4K. The image quality is beautiful without any noticeable blemishes and nice colors. There is a Vivid bug in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

My Next Door Crush is presented with an English Stereo audio track. As with the image quality, the sound quality is impeccable. The dialog in the movie is clear and easy to understand at all times.

Vivid hasn't included any extras for their streaming and download edition of My Next Door Crush.

My Next Door Crush is the second of the new Vivid movies that are being produced by Gamma Films. The movie is essentially a very short set up with an extended sex scene. The production values for the scene are high; however, the plot seems to be heavily skipped over. Viewers who like short vignette-style set-ups will likely enjoy this movie whereas viewers who want the more extended vignette-style set-ups that most of Gamma Productions have will probably feel shortchanged here. Vivid has done a beautiful job with their streaming and download edition with superb audio and video quality.
