Initial Expectations: SinTec has a reputation for being one of the worst companies out there. I think I’m watching this one just out of morbid curiosity of how bad it’s going to be.

Initial Reaction: The interactive portion isn’t quite as bad as I expected, but the movie portion sucks.

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects leave more than a little to be desired. The audio is normally clear, but the balance and level seems to change with every camera angle or edit. You also get to hear directions from off camera while seeing the stars’ reactions. Finally, some of the audio doesn’t appear to be completely in synch with the video during the interactive portion of the feature. It doesn’t look like it’s dubbed, but instead looks inept. The video lacks as well. There’s some pixelation as well as a fair amount of camera shake. Quite a few sequences are slightly out of focus, the lighting varies moment to moment, and the scene frequently has a strong pink tint.

False Advertising: Well, it wouldn’t be a true SinTec DVD without a little false advertising now, would it? The cover advertises bloopers and a behind the scenes featurette. They appear to be one in the same on the DVD as the behind the scenes featurette menu choice brings you to a blooper reel. The cover also claims a half hour hardcore sex scene, but unless my DVD players have a problem and can’t tell time on this DVD only, it only lasts about eighteen minutes (although the total running time of all the angles in the interactive portion would be roughly a half hour) . Finally, the cover claims three points of view, when there are only two for all but one segment during the interactive portion of the DVD and one for the movie portion of the DVD. Yes, the doggie portion has three angles, but the cover makes it appear that three angles are available throughout the entire DVD rather than just over a minute of it. Due to these problems, I can’t help but knock an entire point off the overall rating of the DVD.

Menus: The main menu is pretty simple, and uses a small clip from the movie as a backdrop. It’s not a great main menu, but it’s not that bad either.

The Feature: While walking on the beach Ian Daniels finds a strange looking lamp. He ponders using it as an ashtray, but when he rubs it a genie appears. Ian asks her about three wishes, but she tells him that he’s only going to want one before she makes it clear that she’s been alone for a long, long time.

Genie Luna moves down to suck Ian’s cock while he plays with her twat. Ian makes his way around until he’s eating her pussy. He moves on to bone Luna missionary style as well as in both cowgirls, with a clumsy transition between them. Finally, Ian pops on Luna’s tits.

This is a waste of a scene, and nowhere near the 30 minute hardcore scene the cover advertises. It looks like Luna and Ian have decent chemistry together, but the technical problems interfere with it so often that I think my dick started to get hard in hopes that I’d use it to beat the people over at SinTec over the head with it rather than beating it! This scene should be shown in film school as an example of what not to do.

You also have an interactive option for this feature, which surprisingly isn’t just a rehashing of the scene between Luna and Ian. You have some of the standard choices here, such as teasing, masturbation, foreplay, and sex. Luna will show off her tits, pussy, or ass in the tease section, and work her pussy over with her fingers and a dildo in the masturbation section. The foreplay section lets you work Luna over with your fingers, tongue, or a dildo, get a blowjob, and even pop on her tits. Finally, you can fuck her missionary, doggie, or cowgirl style.

The interactive portion of My Naughty Genie wasn’t as bad as I expected, but that isn’t going as far as saying it’s an average interactive feature. First, the good part. Luna does a great job in playing to the camera, and looks to be enjoying herself through the entire scene. She throws out some playful lines, and I have to say that I enjoyed watching her. The camera angles were also decently done, and although I didn’t always like the choices, they were always completely different views that I can see others wanting.

And now, as Paul Harvey would say, it’s time for the rest of the story. The interactive mechanism is very primitive and poorly done. Your choices for what to do are all on menu screens, which are short, repetitive, and after the second time are every bit as annoying as listening to Hillary speak. Once you start a segment, you can’t change your mind. You finish the segment, and then return to the menu for your next selection. If you don’t like the choices on that menu, you can go back to the main menu and choose another area rather than just having a selection on each menu to let you go directly to the other sections. The only bright light in this scenario is that almost every segment is sixty eight seconds long, with no segment going as long as a minute and a quarter and a couple barely lasting a minute. The pop shot, of which you only have one choice for, lasts a whopping twenty seconds, and you can only get at it from the foreplay menu! This is the main factor that kills the interactive segment. The segments are so short that you can’t really get into them, and the menu segments get so that you really do want to stuff Luna in a bottle just so you don’t hear her any more. Finally, as I mentioned earlier, there’s only two camera angles for the entire interactive segment with the exception of the doggie segment, which has three.

My Naughty Genie is a great idea that’s gone horribly wrong. I love the idea of an I Dream of Jeanie style porno, and combining it with an interactive DVD where the genie has to follow her master’s commands just makes the idea all the better. Luna does a great job of playing Genie, looking great in her outfit as well as playing to the camera just right for the interactive aspect. Unfortunately, the interactive portions are so primitive and short that it’s a complete and utter disappointment. The movie portion is even worse, and I often wondered if it was filmed by people who aren’t able to legally watch porn yet due to the skill level the cameramen demonstrate. Although there are a couple nice things about it, My Naughty Genie should be left in the bottle and chucked out into the ocean.

Extras: The slide show lasts just over two minutes with a whopping twenty seconds per decent looking snapshot. The behind the scenes featurette lasts just over a minute, and is a series of outtakes separated by a jumble of flashes from the feature.

Overall: Currently, My Naughty Genie can be found online for between $5 and $23 with a few stores offering it for around $10. If you have to have this one, aim low! The interactive portion isn’t horrible, but is incredibly low-tech. The technical aspects vary throughout the feature from average to poor, and there isn’t really anything to mention for extras.

Note to SinTec: A little honesty can go a long way. The only reputation I hear about you is one of lying and poor products, and from what I’ve seen you’ve worked hard to earn that reputation.
