My First Time (His) Review

Until now the only HIS productions that I’ve seen on DVD have been rereleases of their earlier VHS films. This one is brand new (January 2007is the date). The director is the director of their earlier VHS films—Jim Steel. I wish I could say that this new film is good, but it’s not.

To begin with I don’t know why the film is called MY FIRST TIME. Nothing is established that this is the first time for any of the participants. The scenes just begin. There is a bit a dialogue in the first scene when as one of the twinks starts fucking he says, “I wish I could say this was a virgin ass, but I’ve been here before.” Perhaps it’s Steel’s first time directing for DVD. Who knows?

The film started off with a blurry montage that went on so long that I began to get antsy. After several minutes of this I reached for the fast-forward. The scene began with two cuties: Kyle Aames and Tyler Mason. I don’t know which was which, but one was blond and the other brunet. The brunet is sucking on the blond’s cock. This scene like all of the others was marred by a restless camera that wandered aimlessly, constantly changing angles. This was accompanied by double exposures and more of the blurry montages. These are things one sometime sees in softcore porn to make it seem like art instead of porn. When these techniques are used in hardcore porn they are only distracting—especially when used to the extreme as here.

There are three other scenes but they all suffer from the same malady. A pity, as there are some attractive performers in all of them.

Jim Steel was a solid B director. I think that with all these technical shenanigans he is attempting to rise to the A-list. Sadly, he descends instead to Kathy Griffin’s list.

MY FIRST TIME is not only disappointing; it is downright annoying.
