The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and fairly well balanced. There’s a few scenes where there’s a little low talk between the performers that’s hard to pick up. I think those performers are normally referred to as mumblers, so I’m a little torn. In the end I’m happier that they’re left in rather than editing it out. The video is also pretty good. It leans towards being a little on the soft side, but is normally nicely clear and mixes up close-ups and distance shots very well. There are a few remnants that pop up throughout the feature, but my main complaint is that the lighting is a bit inconsistent and makes it hard to see some of the action. Shadows, black cocks, and black pussies don’t work together!

Music: The music is normally nicely done. It normally rests nicely in the background to the point that at times I had to pay attention to know it was there. It goes with a sexy style rather than going for the urban hip-hop feel that so many other black features are going with, and worked much better for me than the hip-hop feel.

Disc Complaints: Before you get to the main menu, you’re subjected to phone sex crap and website crap. Normally I don’t refer to website commercials like this, but when I have to scan through them rather than flipping past them, and I’ve already done the same with phone sex commercials (and there are few things I hate more than being forced to watch phone sex commercials), the website commercials drop down to the same level. Here, this was the deciding factor on why the overall DVD got a three and a half rather than a four star rating, as I was torn between the two. I’m really hoping that Video Team changes this practice in the future!

Menus: The main menu is pretty good. It’s not anything highly animated or complex, but it’s pleasing to the eye and nicely arranged. The chapter menu is also quite simple, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

There’s a lot of back out there, so of course people want to know who has some of the best back around. Video Team has started the Anal Idol contest, with hosts India and Mr. Marcus, and judges Kitten, Obsession, Julian St. Jox, and Devlin Weed. Mr. Marcus disappears right away much to the disappointment of director Guy diSilva, but they’re not going to let him get in the way of judging some fine booty and seeing who can take it up the ass best!

Scene 1 - Angel Eyes, India, and Mr. Marcus

Angel Eyes interrupts India and Mr. Marcus to try to get into the Baby Got Back contest. She does a little dance to win them over before dropping to her knees to suck Marcus’ cock. Scene 2 - Adina Jewel, Devlin Weed, and Julian St. Jox

Scene 3 - Kennedy and Guy DiSilva

Scene 4 - Mercury Orbitz and Byron Long

Reporter Byron pays a visit to India for a little research for his story before getting contestant Mercury to think he’s the powerful guy she should fuck to get ahead. It ends up as a slightly above average scene, but not by much, and is easily the weakest scene in the movie.

Scene 5 - Skyy and Wesley Pipes

Finally, there’s an orgy between the judges and the winners right as Brian shows up looking like he might be starting to channel the spirit of Mr. T. This is a good scene to end things with that has a nicely different feel from many orgies. To me, one of the biggest problems with orgies is that as soon as you start to get into something, the camera changes to focus on somebody else. That’s true here, but the camera also focuses on each girl one at a time so that you can feel a little something form rather than just getting a little tease throughout the scene. It nicely brings in a bit of group footage as well to balance things out, and ends up as a nicely captured orgy to finish things out.

My Baby Got Back 30 is a hot black ass feature! Every girl here has a fine ass and knows how to use it. More importantly, almost all of the cast looks like they’re having a great time. Mercury Orbitz is the only questionable person in the cast, and even she has moments when she looks like she’s really into it. Adina Jewel steals the show for me, although Ayana Angel and Skyy are also very impressive. Devlin Weed really stands out for the guys, and shows that he can play a role very well in addition to fucking like crazy. Weed had always been an okay performer in my eyes in the past, but this one moved him up to the top tier of black performers for me. My Baby Got Back 30 shows that not all long running series coast along after a few episodes, and is well worth checking out for every fan of black asses and black asses getting fucked.

There’s also a couple featurettes, phone sex crap (yes, the same crap you had to scan through at the start of the DVD), and website commercials (yes, also the same stuff you had to scan through at the start of the DVD).

The photo shoot featurette lasts about thirteen minutes. After Jada dances around a bit giving the camera both fingers, she talks about her spider tattoo and her body. I’m always turned off by stars who feel the need to flip their fans the bird, but Jada makes up for it with some very nice and polite comments to the fans. Skyy talks about her first oral sex experiences and what makes the cover great. Ayana Angel talks about her part in the movie before the camera shows the girls posing for the shoot. Finally the girls play around and show off their beautiful booties. It’s a fun featurette and shows off the personality of all three ladies as well as well as their great bodies.

Finally, the behind the scenes featurette lasts about nineteen minutes. There’s a little bit of everything here. You get to see some of the still photos and scenes being shot, as well as having a few interviews. Most importantly, you get to see plenty of the stars as people and having fun on the set. It all works together to make this a nice featurette that’s worth checking out.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Video Team releases can be found online for between $13 and $25 with most stores offering them for around $20. This is a very fair price for what you get here. The movie’s long and hot, the technical aspects are nicely done, and there are even some nice extras. If you like black ass and anal sex, My Baby Got Back 30 is a movie you have to check out.

Note to Video Team: You’ve got a pretty nice DVD here, but a couple minor additions would be very nice. First, add a couple more chapter breaks. At the very least please separate the non-sex sequences from the sex scenes, and a third chapter break for the pop shot is also normally well liked. Also, add a little better identification for the talent. Whether it’s a cast list by scene or whether you identify the ladies in the chapter menu, it’s something that all viewers seem to enjoy. A little more attention to the technical aspects would also be nice. Most of it’s very nice, but the few remnants are very obvious, especially in the extras. Finally, let the viewer skip the ads at the start of the feature. Yes, we all know that you want us to visit your website, but forcing people to watch them (even in fast forward mode) will often turn people off to the point that they’ll refuse to check it out. I have yet to find anybody who wants to be forced to watch phone sex commercials, especially when they’re the same ones over and over again. You might change them from release to release, but if you do a good job on your movie and DVD, people are going to want to watch it over and over again. The phone sex ads get really old really quick then.
