Ms. Grey 2: Darker is Dee Severe and Lily Cade's follow up to Severe Sex Films' 2015 feature movie Ms. Grey, which was nominated for four AVN Awards and two XBIZ awards. Ms. Grey 2: Darker is an adult version of E.L. James' 2012 book Fifty Shades Darker and the 2017 mainstream film of the same name. The movie is a feature style BDSM movie and the movie picks up after the events that partake in Ms. Grey, so viewers would be behooved to watch the original movie before this one.

In Ms. Grey 2: Darker, Annabelle Irons (Dolly Leigh) is getting over her relationship with Kristen Grey (Lily Cade) when Grey re-enters Irons' life looking to rekindle what the two had. As Irons is starting to trust Grey again, Laila (Charlotte Sartre), a submissive ex of Grey, escapes from a mental institution and reenters Grey's life.

Ms. Grey 2: Darker is a fantastic adult feature movie that shows that BDSM movies can make excellent feature movies as well. Severe and Cade were obviously working on a limited budget when they made the movie, however, instead of just letting the movie look cheap as some studios do, they work around the limitations to create a solid looking feature showing that you don't need a blockbuster budget to create a good adult feature. The camera work is well done giving a nicely framed image.

Ms. Grey 2: Darker opens with an almost lulling music box style music over the opening credits giving the viewer a false sense of security before the movie gets going. Ms. Grey 2: Darker has a solid script and story that do a great job of not only giving depth to the characters but also allows the sex scenes to work in conjunction with the story to create a well done and enjoyable adult movie. Some of the sex scenes are intercut with plotted portions, which gives the movie more of a feature feel to it, especially since the sex scenes are on the longer side so the viewer doesn't end up with the feeling that the plot is on hold for too long.

The cast does a great job with their roles in the movie. For those who feel that adult actors can't actually act, this is a movie that will prove you wrong. The cast brings depth to their characters, making you like some and dislike others. The cast does an amazing job with their sexual scenes as well, going from rather soft to very intense in nature.

The sex scenes grow in intensity as the movie progresses. Instead of just being all straight out BDSM scenes that don't necessarily fit within the story, the sex scenes fit the portion of the movie that they are in. For instance, the scene in the beginning with Annabelle Irons and Josefina Rodriguez (Loni Legend) is tender and sweet. Whereas, the most intense scene in the movie between Kristen Grey and Laila is, well, very fitting.

Ms. Grey 2: Darker is a feature adult movie that won't be for everyone. The movie is a BDSM movie and some of the sex scenes can only be described as very intense. However, Ms. Grey 2: Darker is an incredibly rewarding adult movie that gives the viewer an enjoyable plotted movie with some excellent sex scenes. The cast does an amazing job, with both sides of their role. Ms. Grey 2: Darker is highly recommended for fans of the genre and hopefully Severe Sex Films will bring us a third entry in the series in the future.

Severe Sex Films has done a nice job with their two DVD release of Ms. Grey 2: Darker. The first DVD contains part of the movie and the second DVD contains the conclusion of the movie along with the extras. Ms. Grey 2: Darker appears to have been shot digitally and is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 480i. The image presented on the release looks nice with a crisp, clean, and clear picture with beautiful color representation. There were no noticeable defects with the image. The only issue at all with the image is that it is presented as an interlaced image instead of progressive scan.

Ms. Grey 2: Darker is presented with an English Linear PCM 2.0 Stereo audio track. The only real issue with the audio is that the levels are inconsistent throughout the movie making some scenes and dialog louder than other scenes and dialog. Other than the one issue the audio for the movie is fine with the dialog clear and easy to understand.

Severe Sex Films has loaded this release with extras. There are a collection of interviews with the cast and directors. There is an interview with Dee Severe, that runs for 11 minutes about Ms. Grey 2: Darker, there is an interview with Lily Cade, that runs for nine minutes and is about the movie and how one should obviously not attempt the sex scenes seen here at home, there is an interview with Dana Vespoli, that runs for seven minutes about the Fifty Shades of Grey series and the movie, there is an interview with Dolly Leigh, that runs for eight minutes about the movie and her time in the industry, there is an interview with Charlotte Sartre, that runs for nine minutes on her career and the movie, and last, but not least, there is an interview with Jillian Janson, that runs for eight minutes on her career and likes. There are also photo galleries on the disc for Loni Legend, Jillian Janson, Dana Vespoli, Charlotte Satre, Dolly Leigh, and Lily Cade.

Ms. Grey 2: Darker is Dee Severe and Lily Cade's follow up to their 2015 AVN nominated feature Ms. Grey, both movies being based on the Fifty Shades of Grey series. Ms. Grey 2: Darker is a well-done BDSM feature that should please fans of the genre with the enjoyable story, good acting, camera work, and hot sex scenes. Severe Sex Films has done a good job with their two DVD release of Ms. Grey 2: Darker with nice image quality and decent, but slightly flawed, audio. The release has been loaded with extras as well.
