Initial Expectations: Smash has put out some good movies and I'm liking what I've seen from Kevin Moore. I'm looking forward to this one.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are well done. The audio is pretty clear and decently balanced, but there are a couple places in the setups which are a little muddy. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen, and much the same. Most of it is clear and nicely presented, but there are some areas that seem slightly fuzzy or overlit (with Amber Lynn's scene being bright enough that it started to wash out some of the colors). There are also a few fast pans and zooms, but they're very minor and not nearly as common as they were in Clothes Freaks.

Menus: The main menu nicely works through some stills of the ladies with some cool animation before settling in on the boxcover still of Puma along with a little animation and the choices. The chapter menu nicely lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the name of the lady in it. There's also a positions menu to let you go directly to specific sex acts such as anal, cowgirl, or cumshots.

Mother Lode is a hot MILF movie that's worth checking out. Kevin Moore seems like he's grown a bit behind the camera since Clothes Freaks, as he mixes in some of the great almost voyeuristic angles he had in there with a bit more straightforward footage. The setups are simple, but also well done and often with a touch of humor. Best of all is the ladies. There's a very nice mix of looks among the ladies, and the outfits for them are all nicely hot and range from a simple sexy dress for Druuna to Puma Swede and Amber Lynn's hot fetishwear. Along with the variety in looks there's a nice variety in the sex including interracial for Druuna, a blow bang for Darryl, and a double penetration for Sexy Vanessa. I think Puma and Druuna's scenes might be my favorite here, but there really isn't a bad scene here. Even Darryl's scene worked well for me and I'm not somebody who likes blow bangs. Mother Lode might have a few minor things holding it back for technical aspects, but the sex is solid and the action is well captured.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts nearly five minutes with about six seconds per very good looking snapshot or full screen photo. The featurette continues to move all around the shoot, which works much better than I'd normally expect. The segments are all short, but they also come from all over the different shoots and mixes up the fun stuff with the serious stuff. This is a very enjoyable behind the scenes featurette.

Currently, many Smash DVDs can be found online for between $14 and $24 with most stores offering them in the $20 range. At the low end this one's a very good buy. The sex is hot and there's a nice mix of hot older women and sex styles. The technical aspects are above average, and the extras show some nice effort. This is a good DVD that's worth checking out.

Note to Smash Pictures: Kevin Moore's showing some good promise here, and looks to be improving nicely. I hope you give him another shot after this one.
