The Little Details

NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. Initial Expectations: I know that I watched one of Miranda and Bill's movies before, but I honestly can't quite remember it. Regardless, since this is a Shot at Home release and they've lasted this long I can't help but have decent expectations here.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are a touch on the weak side, which isn't unusual for homemade porn. The audio has a few background noises from the camera, as well as some balance problems. The video is presented in the full frame format, and is often plagued by grain as well as inconsistent lighting. Much of the movie is shot by hand, but is pretty smooth when one brings that into consideration.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower right corner. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on six clips from the movie.

The Feature

This is a slightly above average homemade scene. At the same time, the last third of this scene really dragged for me due to the tripod largely capturing Bill's ass as he pumped away on Miranda, and I'm not really a big fan of handjobs so using that to finish a scene never does much for me unless it's pretty quick. This is a pretty good homemade scene to start things out, but there were a few things about it that just don't work for me in general.

Miranda starts the second scene out in the kitchen making Christmas cookies, but is a little disappointed that they don't have more icing. The problem here is that once again there's a ton of stroking to finish Bill off, and my mind started to wander a little once again. As a ten minute scene this would have probably been pretty hot, but as a fifteen minute scene I couldn't help but lose a bit of interest.

This is a pretty amazing final scene. I couldn't help but wince when I saw the size of Miranda's toy, but she really comes off as a trooper trying to get it in. Miranda looks like she's enjoying the stretch and seeing just how much her pussy can take, but I would have liked a few more shots to capture her reaction than Bill does here. This is a very good solo scene and a strong end for the movie.

Miranda and Bill 6 is a pretty good homemade release. It does a great job showing the strengths of true homemade porn, such as the general feeling of reality that professional porn so rarely captures, as well as the limitations, such as not having a trained cameraman around and the technical limitations that go along with it. Throughout the movie Miranda comes off as a heck of a lot of fun, and I couldn't help but love her Christmas cookie cum eating in the second scene as well as her toy play in the final two scenes. At the same time, some of the movie didn't work that well for me due to the general tripod placement and the amount of time she spent giving Bill handjobs. Once again, this is true homemade porn and the guys here can rarely pop on the count of ten like some professional porn studs. Although it had its weaknesses for me, Miranda and Bill 6 still showed the reality that many homemade porn fans love, and I can't see those people being disappointed by this release.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of Shot at Home's DVDs can be found on their website for around $20. This release might be best for those who have already experienced homemade porn or Miranda and Bill before. There's some nice action throughout the movie, but it also shows some of the limitations of homemade porn with the pace of the scenes and technical aspects that can sometimes leave a bit to be desired. As usual with Shot at Home, there's a touch of effort put into the extras with a half hour preview reel. This is a nice true homemade release, but possibly not the best for homemade or amateur porn virgins.

Note to Shot at Home: I know this one might not work the best for some amateur porn virgins, but it's great to see you sticking to your roots as well as branching out with couples with much more experience around the camera.
