Initial Expectations: With this kind of lineup, it’s almost impossible to not have high expectations!

Initial Reaction: I’m starting to think that having Wendy Divine as the sole covergirl is a great sign for a great movie.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who wants a fairly serious plot with some hot sex

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants threesomes

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is balanced fairly well, but all of the outdoor scenes suffer from quite a bit of noise from the surroundings. The video, however, looks very good. There’s barely even a hint of grain and very few shadows. The only problem is there’s occasionally a distorted vertical line along the right edge of the screen.

Music: It starts out with one of my favorite classical pieces with the opening credits, and works in a little big band music as well before the sex starts. Unfortunately, it moves to the typical porn music for all of the sex scenes and is normally a little on the loud side, which I’m guessing is to cover up the surrounding noises in the scenes.

Menus: YAWN! It’s the standard VCA menu that you’ve seen about as many times as the number of VCA DVDs you’ve seen before. On a plus note, VCA is supposedly going to get with the times and start making new main menus, which should give their DVDs a much better first impression. Also on a plus note, each selection in the chapter menu lets you choose based on the leading lady in each scene and a small clip of the scene.

The Feature: The great Wendy Divine thinks she has it all, a nice house, caring husband, and everything else a girl could dream of. That all starts to change when lesbian biker DJ Bunny Luv’s car craps out in front of their house. The girls strike up a friendship almost immediately, but Wendy’s husband Steven St. Croix, who’s fucking around behind her back, feels immediately threatened, and starts moving things out of control and threatening their marriage.

Keri Windsor starts things off with Joel Lawrence by a pool that sounds to be very close to a highway. They kiss a little before Keri starts teasing Joel’s cock through his pants and then boxers with her amazing tongue. She moves on to aggressively suck Joel’s cock, including taking him down her throat and sticking her tongue out to lick he balls, as he reaches around to give her great ass a slap every now and then. Although the traffic noises interfere with the scene a little, it does show some good care with things like the towel being the same color as the rock.

Using a business meeting as an excuse, Steven St. Croix leaves the lovely Wendy Divine home so he can be with Zana. After playing with her naughty bits a little, Steven lets Zana swallow his snake. As usual, Zana is ready to go from the start, so Steven goes directly to splitting her slit from behind while Zana does her best impression of the sound of heavy equipment starting. She quickly moves Steve so her ride him reverse cowgirl style with her ass as well as letting him fuck it missionary style. Steven finishes things with an impressive blast that soaks Zana from the top of her head down to her stomach which she licks up as much as possible of. It’s a good scene, but had a tough act to follow. The chemistry and energy are pretty average, and Zana’s antics had me chuckling more than anything.

Wendy Divine and Bunny Luv, both looking cute as can be, get busy on Wendy’s bed in the next scene. It’s a pretty average scene that seemed to be missing a little something I couldn’t put my finger on.

She finishes it up with a decent facial, and a nice bit of acting that goes well with the storyline. It’s a good scene that has nice chemistry. It’s not a great scene, but I really don’t think it’s meant to be one.

I’m not sure exactly how it’s pronounced, but I like it. Menage a Trois has a decent story that’s very well acted, and some hot sex as well. I originally picked it up just because Wendy Divine was the cover girl. The last time I found Wendy on the cover was Pink Package, which I really enjoyed. Once again, Wendy does a great job with both aspects and shows why she got the cover to herself. The rest of the cast also does a great job, without a single person giving anywhere close to a slightly below average performance. Menage a Trois does a great job showing that adult films don’t have to be brainless and shoddily done.

Extras: Bios are included for Wendy Divine, Bunny Luv, Keri Windsor, and Inari Vachs, each of which includes a few stills, a link to the star’s scene, and a bit of personal information. The photo gallery lasts almost two and a half minutes with about seven seconds per very nice looking full screen photo. Trailers are included for Torn, Jim Holliday’s Perfect Smiles, and the great Cap’n Mongo’s Porno Playhouse. Of course, there’s also internet and contact information.

Overall: Currently, most VCA DVDs can be found online for between $20 and $25. Although there isn’t really anything special for extras, Menage a Trois is worth the money. It’s well written and acted, and also has good sex and a nice transfer.

Note to VCA: I hope you keep using Wendy Divine as your leading lady in your future films, just like I can’t wait to see some new main menu designs.
