The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are on the artistic side. The audio is normally decently balanced and clear, but there are times when it get very quiet. The video is nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen and has a very artistic look to it. The lighting varies from scene to scene and there's heavy grain through the movie which makes it pretty clear that Jim Mol was trying to give the movie a film-like presentation.

Music: There's a little music here and there, but it's always nicely balanced with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The main menu blends a couple artistic stills with a few clips of the movie. The chapter menu is very generic and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature

Melissa Pure Sex keeps things fairly simple. There's a little tease to work into each scene and the scenes are held together by an artistic style instead of any kind of story or plot.

Scene 1 Melissa Lauren and Nacho Vidal

Melissa Pure Sex is a nicely different all sex movie. The entire movie has a heavy sense of style, which mostly comes forward with a grainy, film-like presentation as well as with some fast editing and plenty of lighting variations. This gives much of the movie a feeling reminiscent of a music video, but at the same time there is plenty of footage that makes the movie seem reminiscent of an amateur or home movie with how the performers interact with the camera in a very natural feel. Unlike many artistic movies, the sex in Melissa Pure Sex never feels like it's being pushed aside for the artistic style. Yes, there are times when the amateur style and the artistic style don't meld that well, but the chemistry of the sex is never lost even in these times. Melissa Lauren does a great job through the movie, and the only time the sex fell short for me was in Wivien and Suzie Carina's scene due to it all going in one direction. The only other thing I can see getting in the way for some people here is the condom issue, which I will admit is rarely an issue for me. It's even less of an issue for me here as it's done very well and there were many times when I had to back the movie up to check because I wasn't sure if condoms were being used or not. I know there are many who will disagree with me on this, but I really think that if condoms were used as well as they are here in most movies they wouldn't be as much of an issue. Melissa Pure Sex is a nicely different fuck flick with a great sense of chemistry as well as style.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts about three and a half minutes with about five seconds per very nice looking full screen photo. Two strip teases are included, each lasting about four minutes and featuring Yasmine. The chemistry is just as hot, and with how good Melissa and Nacho are at rougher sex scenes this one completely delivers. This is a very good bonus scene.

Rent this one first or aim low, simply because the artistic style might lose some people. The presentation is on the artistic side, but also works in an almost amateur feel while never losing sight of the chemistry between the performers. The technical aspects have a very artistic presentation to them that's led by a very grainy presentation, but the extras show some good effort. This is a nicely done DVD.
