Megan Video Letters to Alaska 2 Review

NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. That said, amateur and homemade features have a great charm to them, simple because the people in them are doing what they’re doing to have fun and because they enjoy it. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty well done for a homemade movie shot from a tripod with the person in front of it operating the camera the entire time. The audio has a little hiss in the background, but is nothing new for anybody who used an earlier video camera. It starts out a little hard to hear Megan, but that problem disappears early into the movie. Thankfully, there aren’t any background noises that interfere with the action otherwise. The video is pretty well done. There’s a bit of grain, but Megan does a good job keeping the camera focused where she wants it. She does cut off her head a few times, but at the same time she pops down saying that she knows she’s doing it and that hubby should be able to figure out why, which makes it very easy to forgive. The action is nicely lit, and the zooms are easy on the eyes.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower left corner. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on six stills.

The Feature

When Megan’s husband’s job takes him to Alaska for a couple months, they decide to give things a more personal touch by sending each other videos rather than just writing letters. Megan looks to be close to thirty, and is very nice looking with long brown hair and brown eyes. She takes a little time in front of the camera each day to tell him what’s going on back home, and sometimes gives him a little show that every husband would hope for.

Not surprisingly, plenty of little details change from segment to segment. Megan’s clothes vary from jeans and a tank top to a polka dot sundress to a bikini to only a shirt, depending on what she has going on. Her moods also vary quite a bit, sometimes being playful and sometimes seeming like she can barely keep her eyes open. The only thing that doesn’t seem to change is the longing and love Megan has for her husband.

Scene 1 - Megan

After telling her husband about the sexy dream she had about her and one of her female friends during her morning coffee, Megan decides to run grab her toy. She lubes herself up, explaining that she has to use lube since he isn’t there to do it for her, and then lies back to slowly fuck her pussy. She takes care of herself as she lies back on the couch and then rolls onto all fours while looking at the camera. Megan even bounces up and down on it a little before lying back and fucking herself again. Finally, she switches off the camera after having a nice orgasm and telling her hubby not to laugh.

This is a great scene. There’s plenty of very personal emotion leading up to it, and Megan comes off completely natural and realistic. I love how she moves around the couch fucking herself as well as her “don’t laugh” reaction at the end. This is a really beautiful solo scene that shows more emotion than many professional solo movies lasting over two hours combined.

Scene 2 - Megan

Megan shows up wearing a white button down shirt to give a tour of her underwear drawer next. She shows off a couple items before modeling a pair of lacy see through red panties. She moves through a few other pair of panties before modeling a few pair of bras and panties. Megan does everything from a bra with a thong to her white shirt and boxers.

This is another great segment. Megan keeps things very fun and playful throughout the entire portion, and I love her comments. Once again there’s some great humanity to it, and her personality really comes out well. Megan turns out another beautiful segment with her underwear drawer.

Scene 3 - Megan

After laying out to get some sun in a patriotic bikini, Megan heads back inside and up to the bathtub. She lathers herself up and shaves her puts before moving up to shave her pussy. She rinses off and heads out to the couch to lotion up before saying goodbye. This is another nice little segment. Megan seems to add a little extra playfulness in the tub while also keeping things fairly simple. The lotioning up on the couch is a nice cap for the scene, and helps this installment to end very nicely.

Megan: Video Letters to Alaska 2 is another wonderful amateur video. Megan is a very nice looking woman, and her love for her husband and how much she misses him comes out every single moment of this release. It honestly had a smile on my face with the start of a tear in my eye through almost all of the movie. Unlike the typical adult film, Megan: Video Letters to Alaska 2 doesn’t come off as being about the sex, and instead comes off about a loving couple. There’s a lot of non-sex action here, and the first scene with Megan masturbating on the couch is the only real full-on sex scene in the movie. The rest are as much tease as anything, and for me that’s just fine. It’s the emotion that drives this release, and not so much the action, so those just looking for a quick stroke might want to avoid it. Anybody wanting real passion and emotion, however, will definitely want to check Megan: Video Letters to Alaska 2 out. Although it isn’t heavy on the sex, Megan: Video Letters to Alaska 2 really is a beautiful release.

Currently, most DVDs can be found for about $20 at Shot at Home’s website. This is a wonderful release that’s definitely worth the money. There’s plenty of passion throughout the movie, and some nice variety as well. The technical aspects are pretty good for a homemade movie, and there’s even a bit of effort put into the extras. This is a very highly recommended DVD.
